Last album you bought or downloaded

Last week on the show I got a little beatup for not knowing who this Jaz Bassist was "Jaco Pastorius". So yeasterday I bought Word Of Mouth Revisited.

I must say that guy was somthing special...

Before that it was Rush R30

I was really pleased with Amor Vincit Omnia, however that was the first album I had heard by Pure Reason Revolution so that may have been why I liked it, because I had nothing to compare it to.

TCATS is the only Foos album i ever really dug, everything else just sounRAB average and middle of the road. But they really are better live than they are on record

Haven't fully listened to Freak Out! yet, but I like what I've heard. Fully listened to both White Blood Cells & In the Court, both great albums! I thought that "Moonchild Including The Dream And The Illusion" dragged on for way too long, though...

David Gilmour-On An Island (gatefold version)

It is nothing spectacular song wise, but as usual the guitar playing owns!

A lot of die-hard fans dislike this album and to be fair it is a lot heavier than the original, but I really like a lot of stuff on this album. There is some great guitar work.

The Muffins - Manna/Mirage

An album by this unfortunately obscure group that fuses jazzy avant-garde with Canterbury-scene stylings. It's surprisingly pretty sharp stuff, reminicent to me of Soft Machine and Coltrane's earlier stuff in its quieter moments. If there ever was a "lost gem" of the late 70's, then I'd say this is it. :D

Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye

I wasn't expecting that much of this, considering the sort of hype Kayo Dot get in experimental metal circles, but this record is actually pretty awesome/engaging. Take Maudlin of the Well (their former group), swap out their jazzy tendencies for classical ones, and Choirs of the Eye is what comes out of the oven.

i got a few new ones from my friend today...

reel big fish - turn the radio off
underminded - hail unamerican (new copy of it...lost my old one.)
coheed and carabria - good apollo (the newest one...whatever its called)
haste the day - when everything falls (theyre ok...not my favorite though.)
