(Don't judge me)

he did, but he was well-versed, his name keeps cropping up as digging a lot of good older banRAB (especially in the post-punk era) which is more impressive when you consider how people consumed their music back then. And living in suburban America too, you must've really had to dig for the Raincoats or whatever

edit- although yeah he probably wouldnt have liked the toytown psychedelia stylings of the original Nirvana...

cellartapes does that album have 'Rainbow Chaser' on it? amazing track

I think the biggest problem with Jay-Z is the sheer mindless repetition of his subject matter, with minute variations. He isn't awful though, not by a long shot.

Jackson Jackson - The Fire is on the Bird

An eclectic side project from one of the Cat Empires trumpeters. Making a great impression on me so far.

Indeed...was that yours? I didn't really follow who submitted what. I liked the track but don't really know what to expect with the album, style-wise. It'll be a surprise.

Sense Field "OneLineDrawing"
Atreyu "Fractures In The Facade Of Your Porcelain Beauty"
36 Crazy Fists "A Snow Capped Romance"
Pretty Girls Make Graves "Good Health"

Swordfishtrorabones-Tom Waits
Not as good as Rain Dogs. Rain Dogs seems to have a cleaner feel, while retaining his trademark grittiness. Hard to explain. The music is more accesible and the vocals better, but the subject matter is just as dark. The vocals are also just as gravelly.
