My Primal Scream journey began with an Urban sampler that he upped. I bought this yesterday to get the ball rolling.

Femi%20Kuti%20-%20Fight%20To%20Win.jpg

The son of legendary Afrobeat star Fela Kuti (who happens to be one of my favourite artists) keeps his fathers traditions alive with an album chock full of funky african rythmns and tinged with soul and funk. I have been hunting for his albums for ages. Struck gold!

"Astonishing" doesn't really do them justice. Taken as a whole, they're possibly the strangest and most innovative band to emerge in the last half century.

Eskimo and Not Available ftw.

Hmn, I've never heard of anything from that particular Nirvana...definitely going to check them out Molecules. :)

Zyma - Thoughts (1978)

Avant-garde jazzy rock from Germany, with hints in various places of the Canterbury Scene. You can even HEAR the bong-smoking in the background on a track or two, lulz!

Willowglass - Book of Hours (2008)

Willowglass, a moniker for a single guy named Andrew Marshall (who plays all the instruments except for drums, and does all the mixing himself), attempts to recreate the sort of genuine symphonic lushness you hear on Camel's Snow Goose and Moonmadness on this instrumental album, and it exceeRAB in spades while still sounding original. Highly recommended to everyone!
