Last album you bought or downloaded

I picked up David Gilmour's self titled album, Yeah Yeah Yeah's Fever to Tell, and Led Zeppelin IV a couple days ago. I love Gilmour's record, as well as Fever to Tell. But to be honest Led Zeppelin's record is something that I just cannot seem to really enjoy. I liked it, but not it doesn't meet the expectations that everyone puts on it.

I was in the mood for something cheesy.

Last two albums I downloaded were "Can I Say" by Dag Nasty and "None Shall Pass" by Aesop Rock. The Dag Nasty album strikes me as something I would have really liked had I discovered it when I was 14... now it just doesn't do that much for me. My first impression of the Aesop Rock album is that it's pretty mediocre, but I haven't listened to the whole album.

That HanRABome Devil - A City Dressed In Dynamite

A fun debut from a band both accessible and very avant-garde in their approach to music; funk, 50's rock n' roll, electronica, jazz and everything else gets blended together into something awesome. :)

Return to Forever - S/T

Among the best beginnings in all of jazz/jazz-fusion, though many would disagree. Its appeal partly lies in the fact that its energetic without turning into Noodle-fest, which is a rare quality in albums of this kind. Highly recommended!

The Wirtschaftswunder - S/T

This album is the greatest thing I have heard in ages. Imagine Roxy Music without the sophistication & an angry German on vocals.

I love it.

You, Me, and Everyone We Know - So Young, So Insane

AbsolutePunk.net was giving copies of these away for free, so I got curious and grabbed myself a download. And well, it's awesome. I highly recommend it.

Mozart's opera Don Giovanni

The CD is ****ed up though, and the last scene, which is probably the best of the whole opera, skips around. Damnit...

Otherwise, this is quality music.

It's all about perspective and setting restrictions.

Have some some diea (no matter how vague0 about what you want to buy, browse around pickin stuff as you go. Come check out time you can:
1) buy the CD you think you'll like the most
2) buy the CD you think you'll love the most
3) buy them all
4) choose the cheapest ones but the rest in your bag and walk out.

Option nuraber 4 is the reason I could never work at a Tower RecorRAB. . And minimum wage is still to low for me to live off.

PS: I don't like AudioSlave. I just find that I'll like enough of their songs that it's worth owning their CD.

Follow The Blind - Blind Guardian

(Man o man blind guardian has sure evolved from their earlier stuff)
