Van Morrison Astral Weeks Live at the Hollywood Bowl. Timeless great album given great live treatment by Van the Man. None of the accompanying musicians are named, which is a shame.

Too bad so few chances to go to show - one in LA and 2 in NYC. Read in RS that tour is being considered. Regrettably, Van is such a curmudgeon you're never sure what you're gonna get.

What I don't understand is why Warner's has not issued a remasterd version of this album, nor Moondance for that matter, nor His Band and Street Choir for that matter. Lots of lesser albums have been remastered more than once.

Go figure.

Yeah, I like "Conference Of The BirRAB" really well, the way it builRAB over two sides as one large piece in two parts. Very nice. "Pilgrimage" does less for me so far.

No new albums bought today but still itching to hear the new Death Cab, which I have had some small issues uploading to the Mylo (an otherwise excellent device...) and its mp3 player component! I cant wait to hear the new stuff from the band though! Hav e my uploading problem solved I think so looking forward to the first listen, very much!

The last album I downloaded was John Barrowman's Another Side

After hearing him live....... my god he has to have one of the best male voices I've heard in recent years.

And I'm so glad he is using his voice properly....
I'm sure you can work out what that means without my help

Elliot Smith - Either/Or

My first foray into an artist who i believe - thanks mostly to this site, is demanding my attention. Can't wait to listen.

I love Billion Dollar Gravy but don't get last years effort Syncopated City. A big dissapointment. If you like your Drum and Bass get hold of some High Contrast. Their own albums or mixes. Always consistent.

Kaipa - S/T (1974)

Somewhere between the grand flourish of Yes and the beautiful simplicity of Camel...there is Sweden's Kaipa, the band that made Roine Stolt a household name in guitar magazines everywhere. Gorgeous arrangements, great instrumental interplay, a hella-thumping bass and nice vocals (albeit in Swedish) are all highlights on this vintage prog. release, and recommended for people looking for something special from the land of ice and snow. :pimp:
