and yeah WTC7, same thing. 23% of the supporting structure destroyed by falling material from the towers and a fire that burned for hours destroying most of the building that remained. Ok so lets go with your realm of possibility.
The reason I think it couldn't happen is that you have too many people coming into the building constantly to make repairs. It's not the same people since the building was built. You will have different people and a "fresh eye" will tend to catch something that doesn't seem right. The only way the could have possibly prewired the building for explosives would have been to erabed them in the concrete support structure. But doing so could be problematic. As we all know concrete is corrosive. I believe over time it would have possibly deteriorate the explosives that were in it. And the explosives themselves could have deteriorated from the time the building was built.

Putting explosives in your building is not exactly a great contingency plan. Usually you want to eliminate risks. Explosives strapped to support beams is not exactly the best idea.

What renovations were going on in WTC1 and WTC2 for months before 9/11
Location of said renovations
Reports from people that worked in WTC1 and WTC2 about renovations during that time period
