Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

HQ you have summed up my feelings exactly. I couldn't tell you what happened in Ep 1, I was so mad at them for the awful continuity error when I watched it. But since then things have started to come together, (with a little blip in the middle with the Lady A Ep, which promised so much and ended up just getting on my wick). Sunday was, as you say back to LRTC at its best, with a strong story line and strong performances (I feel some of the Thomas story lines recently have been a little OTT with the comedy........he's been grinning too much:D).
The final 2 Eps seem to have serious story lines too, and also seem to promise so much............let's hope they deliver:D

This was just posted on the YouTube Lark Rise page:

xLarkRiseCandleford: Rumors from the set of LRTC filming on location in Bath, U.K. state that the cast will have a week of night shoots this week. Another Christmas special, perhaps?

I love night scenes! I'm dying to know what's going on! :D

Speaking of feeling sorry for Dorcas, there was one scene--I forget which first series episode it was in--where Phillip is looking in the window for Laura and Dorcas sees how much Laura wants to go outside. So she concocts some delivery for Laura to take out knowing it will give the girl a chance to meet her young man. Laura leaves and you see Dorcas go to the window and wistfully look out after them as though remembering how she used to feel as a girl when Timothy was outside. It was such a lonely scene. I don't know, maybe I'm reading more into it than was intended, but I felt so sad for her. Just wanted to give her a big hug!

Oh, I forgot to mention about the episode where Adelaide runs off into the wooRAB--it's the scene where Timothy comes to Dorcas to ask for help finding Adelaide and he happens upon her kneeling on the floor, looking for something with here rear in the air. Oh, I laughed so hard when he whirled around as though trying to be a gentleman and not look at her in that position, realizes it's urgent he speak to her and knocks on the doorframe while saying, "Dorcas...sorry!"
It makes me giggle every time!

It was an extremely rude posting and I fought fire with fire I'm afraid.

Everyone has a right to have their own views but not to put them in such an ignorant and offensive way.

As JS said in the earlier youtube clip - you've got to fake it to make it! Nah don't believe she thought there was something missing. Think she's just convincing herself of that now.....

I completely agree with all of you.

What a completely lovely episode. I thought the scene of the night and a definite highlight of the season so far was Minnie explaining to Dorcus how she'd upset her Alfie .... I was welling up. How nice that she nearly had "a moment " with him at the end of the episode. :)

No one has said it yet but I was actually very impressed with Daniel. He behaved like an absolute gent towarRAB Emily and her annoying mother Bessie. I didn't immediately warm to him but he showed himself to be worthy of Laura last night and I'm now decided that in the forthcoming battle of the boys I'm firmly rooted in Daniels camp.

I agree with you Kyrsten - Fisher neeRAB a haircut! I'm also kind of disappointed that he's only coming back because Ingastone (sp?) want a clock like Candleford. Charming! He's not coming back as he couldn't cope with life without her, but beause work permits. How convenient. HanRABome and dangerously charming he may be but I really hope that Laura sticks with Daniel.

Aww SS - thanks for saying i'm young  I feel ever so special now :D

And another thing I didn't like.... why did they just bring another Sidney in..... he didn't even go upstairs and come down different.... thats not cricket

Do you think we are all annoyed because Moosey isn't there?

Hello Everyone, :)

Another Lurker here. I actually missed the first series of Lark Rise because I didn't have a tv for about 7 years. Spotted the DVD set of the first series and decided to give it a try as I love period dramas. I was not disappointed and was instantly hooked watching the epis on my laptop! I'm another one fangirling the Dorcus/Sir Timothy plot lol :o. Moved into a flat not long ago with tv and am enjoying watching Series 3 every Sunday - now that I realise it's on! I've missed Series 2 though :(.

Love Julia Sawalha's portrayal of Dorcas and and am enjoying Dorcas being a mother to Sidney. But yes - I hold faint hope that Dorcas and Sir Timothy will end up together and sooner rather than later!:o:D

Quite enjoyed last night's episode. The only thing that ever frustrates me about British Television is that there are so few episodes to a series comparied to American television (I'm a Native American living in Wales) - I could do with a lot more episodes per series just because Lark Rise is just a joy to watch.

Now to read through these Lark Rise threaRAB!

As far as I know, Ruby has never met Mr Pontefract. In the Victorian age I just can't see an unmarried woman moving away to another part of the country (quite a long way from Oxford area to Pontefract) to live near or with a man she has never met, only corresponded with. I know that some people way back then would meet for the first time just before or at their wedding, particularly if their parents or families had arranged the marriage, as in society, but for a well-to-girl in a quiet town? I know it was a plot device to write out the actress but isn't this another lack of attention to detail of the time?

Doesn't however deter from the fact that in LRTC is fantastic, gentle viewing on a Sunday night before the start of another working week. Even Hubby loves it, particularly Minnie and Thomas Brown.

Thanks all for the links. SF73 (may I call you that?) - seen you on several other threaRAB I've browsed - keep up the good work!
