Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

I thought it was a bit daft, and I've always been a fan of LRTC.

Thomas got right on my nerves, as did Twister. So did the nonsense with the tree.

And Minnie waiting for food to come from the sky? Yeah, right.

twee .... corny... some dodgy storylines, some questionable acting ... but so what! ? i love it! somehow the beautifully shot seriese does take you back to the late victorian era in england... times past, great escapist material.

Think I may have found the 'arc'.........an incident happens in village and everyone goes loopy......last week the bleeding tree, this week, according to RT, Alf sings a song and 'it has a terrible effect on those that here it':D

I think that word sums it up QM, it seems each episode is a wee comedy in it's own right and continuity involving characters from last year is zero. If Nan isn't at least given a mention next week(she isn't in it, I guess she's been binned), when the story revolves around Alf I shall be almost as mad as I was in episode 1's 'Dibbergate':)

Nice to see you back BTW:D

I know, I kept telling myself it was a bit role reversal, using Delafield in the process, but feelings are a strong thing to deal with, and both Sir Tim and Dorcas only have feelings for each other. Ah well....

Changing the subject slightly, just caught an ab fab episode of Ab Fab. I'd forgotten how good they were.

No he isn't , but I think Laura will end up with him

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:mad::mad:

double quoting again........twice I checked it before I rewrote the post...............must be Saturday night, slow, slow, slow:D:D

Better answer my own question:)
Much as I'd love to see JD back, Ruby, along with the 10 other 'originals' are the core of LRTC and Candleford is a sadder place without her.
Come back Ruby, we love you:D

I thought that if Inglestone does take over the postal sorting duties because of the railway, it will seriously endanger the post office's income, Dorcas did say the post office was doing well but would she have enough to survive on for the rest of her life, if the business did go belly up? So because of this he thinks Dorcas will have sell in order to have enough to survive and he will gain a second business and best dorcas

I'm sure it is.

And it's not just Thomas Browne. For example Minnie's character is much dafter in some episodes than others. As she was last night, she seems a good match for Alfie. In other episodes I have been thinking "Noooo Alf, don't do it!"

Well, there we are then. And yes, I did cry like a buffoon. I cried when Twister cast doubt into Alfie's mind. I cried at the look on Dorcas's face, when she thought hope was lost. I cried when Laura seemed so muddled.
And I cried and cried when Alf realised that life was not clear cut, and set out to right a wrong. I cried with Laura when she concluded a worry, and I sobbed at the tea party, and hope was restored.

I'm quite worn out!

Larkrise, it's my one true weakness. What ever shall I do without it.

Watching Karl Johnson in 'The Chatterley Affair' - playing the judge in the court case of penguin books being prosecuted for publishing Lady Chatterley's Lover in 1960..............seems ludicrous now.....sex before the swinging sixties:D:D:D

That's just Julia's interpretation of the character she plays, she's not even aware of it. As we know, Julia herself is a million miles away from Dorcas in real life. ( I mean that in the nicest possible way Angelheart;)).

I agree, it does amuse me sometimes reading this thread when the posts go from: "I am so sick of the writers they have no consistency! Why can't they just remember what went before!"
To:
"I am so sick of Dorkas meddling/Robert's pride/Laura's kissing boys ;)! We have seen this before!"

:p;):D

I'm hoping, unless Sir. T comes back, they keep Dorcas single. If anyone does die I'll bet it's Twister. Ruby Bentall told someone else on this board that filming begins in August and will continue through November. I'm thinking new episodes will probably air in January??
