Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

I think you are absolutely marvellous in the series. I enjoy your tone of voice, your sincere ability to care about the community and all who live there and quite frankly to me, you are Lark Rise to Candleford. If ever an actress had a role so suited and so damn well played it is you. The thought that you give over 6 and a half million people "their one little weakness" each week must be very challenging for you. Try as you might to act your little heart out each week and give your best, it is quite funny to read posts from people who are concerned that you might be wearing earings or that your hair is too frizzy! Lol!

I do agree with a previous poster though. Why haven't you said "My one true weakness" this year? it is such an adorable line! Thank you for making my Sunday evenings much more enjoyable because of this delightful little programme. That goes to the rest of the cast as well.
 
I think I was disappointed when I didn't feel quite as engaged after the first couple of episodes as I used to do. But then, that can sometimes happen and I choose not to put too much blame on the writers. (Though I did feel a bit tired when the Timmins-confilct repeated itself, again).

This third episode I just watched and enjoyed (well... apart from the tiring Robert getting pissed off-bit... The Dorcas getting pissed off-bit was good though).

Anyway, it works... In general, stop analysing and start enjoying should probably be adapted to a lot of things in life, I feel. :)
 
It is odd that Nan hasn't been mentioned yet but to be honest I don't miss her much. I've decided she just moved on to some other young man.... And if Alf and Minnie become a couple I'd be very happy!
 
Hey, we've all been there. Don't worry about it! Besides, I had a blast on the board with everyone chiming in tonight! You kept it going! :) Must run and meet some friend now--I'm late! Enjoy your birthday now--20 is pretty darn special! :D
 
Cheers, applause, standing ovation! What you have described is what Lark Rise means to me too! We can analyse and pick faults all we want, but if our moans gets the show cancelled where would we be then? Remember the phrase everyone "You don't know what you've got until it's gone". Don't moan about it, enjoy it.
 
I agree, but I didn't know they had a tight budget - you wouldn't have thought so! the opening bit showing the street with all the shops is lovely.
Last night, I really hoped Thomas Brown wouldn't win his case over Dorcas as she seems such a fair-minded and kind employer very believably played by JS. It came out all right in the end though. What is needed now is for Emma and Robert Timmins to be taken down a peg or two, just for them to be wrong for once.

Written by Julian 'Kilwillie' Fellowes (bet he loves being reminded of that:D)
And starring the wonderful Maggie Smith alongside Hugh Bonneville, Penelope Wilton, Jim Carter and Phyllis Logan.
Similar premis to Upstairs Downstairs (ToRAB and Servants), but no dates mentioned as to what period in history, or date for broadcast.
One downside.........it's on ITV...... adverts...... aaaaghhhh:cry:

Talk of BBC revising Upstairs Downstairs too...........a roll for Mr RA perhaps..........what do you think BM?:p

hey all!busy busy busy, just swinging in to add my two cents...

Last nights ep was much lighter than last weeks. The flatmates and I still had a good time. It was kind of fun, but I was a bit unsure about the type gramophone. Even though this plot was a very different tone from last weeks, visually the show is still stunning, and as usual all the actors were in fine form. Minnie and Ruby had some good stuff. The Ruby Pratt plot was interesting, especially as I am meandering my way through series 1 and 2. I must say that it seems that the Pratt sisters have come a long way since some of the earlier episodes.

Question for folks in the know:
How does the chronology work in this show? 1 year=1 series? 1 series= 1 summer? 2 series=1 summer? I am not sure.
 
About the episode 7 synopsis:
How obvious is it that Sir Tim is dead? No mention of their baby, either. I'm thinking little Midwinter died of the same ailment that took it's father. Either that or the writers have even worse memory than we think and they've forgotten that Lady A was preggers when the Midwinters left.

Grr. Not happy about that development.
