Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

They use different directors not only for different approaches, but also we film each episode back to back, so a director working on say ep 1, would not be able to do the prep for ep 2.
The BBC give the green light for a commission so late, that one writer would not physically be able to write 12 eps in the time given.

wow
this is really taken off

i live in the country now
it sucks
we have like one pub, an ice cream shoppe and an old theatre

Well, there is one little thing missing, something which many of us looked out for, and which has rarely surfaced this time - please, Angelheart if you read this, what has happened to your 'My one weakness'?!! I realise a serial mustn't have a 'catchphrase' - but most people have certain phrases they tend to use over and over, so Miss Lane's use of 'My one weakness' was perfectly acceptable, and fun, too. Especially as she always had that wonderful twinkle in her eye as she said it. Please, Angelheart, try to get it included at least once this series! (I seem to remember reference was made to it a few episodes back by Robert Timmins.) It's part of the Dorcas we know and love!!

Maybe that's when the new series premieres? I was thrilled to find series 3 available on DVD so I can finally see Julia's episode! :D SounRAB like a fascinating show as I've been researching my family tree a lot lately as well. I recently found a photo (copy made of the original tintype) of my great, great, great grandfather Ezekiel Beam who was born in 1796 in Scotland. What a treasure! :)

Hi again everyone. Nice to have LR back again, one of the only good things about January! ;)

Anyway, I watched last night, and like a few others found it slightly lacking, as if they were trying too hard to tick various boxes... I don't know, but I've no interest in Laura's numerous broken heart experiences, there was some good humour, and at least JD got a little mention. But I loved last series' "can't wait to see what happens next week" build up of tension and that was mainly due to a certain character and storyline... maybe I am just in Mr JD withdrawl.

And the whole Dibber thing... annoying, if they'd wanted to go that route maybe they could have explained that it was Emma's mother's side of the family...

Oh well, still looking forward to next week and seeing how this series unfolRAB.

Hi Steve! I thought you'd be fast asleep by now! Yeah, things sure have quieted down today. It's a good thing as I'm at work when it gets most active and can get in trouble for being online. Can't help myself, though! :D

Hey, if you ever want to chat off the board (or anyone else) drop me a line sometime at my email: [email protected] :) I hope we can keep in touch when, sadly, the show comes to an end.

Caroline's baby was born in the post office in the final episode of series 1 and was called Patience. I don't think the baby that appeared this week was named, was she? However, in the trailer for next week, Alf says that measles has affected Archie and Patience - so either she's a toddler we never see, or it is the same baby.

We don't know how much time has passed since then - when did Caroline go to the debtors' prison (leaving aside the fact that there weren't any by the 1890s!)?

The plot thickens ...

Yeah, I felt sorry for Timothy for the way Dorcas told him she wasn't going to go to the concert with him after all. He looked so puzzled and hurt. I know she did it because of Laura saying how Adelaide always looked sad, but she should have told him that was the reason rather than being
so dismissive of him. But I had to laugh how easily he persuaded her to change her mind. And I really did laugh when he told her Adelaide was coming after all and you could tell he figured Dorcas would not be coming now that Adelaide was coming. Instead, she just said how lucky he was to have two women by his side which totally threw him off and he was thinking, "Oh, crud, now what I have gotten myself into?" I love devious Dorcas! :D Also loved how when Laura asked Dorcas how long Timothy & Adelaide had been married she instantly rattled off "Four years and two months" then looked embarrassed. Poor Dorcas. I have more notes on this episode but they're at home and I'm stuck at work now. I'll post them tonight.

Perhaps they are saving it for the very last episode? :)

Dorcas out on a round covering for Thomas, as he is home with Margaret and their new baby. As she walks through the grounRAB toward the squires house she sees a grounRABman working in the garden, planting.
As she gets closer she sees realises the grounRABman is planting in the very spot hers and Timothy's tree stood. Closer still and it is not a gardener but Sir Timothy. He is returned (His divorce mentioned and passed over earlier in the season) and is here to start his life again. And this time he means to live it as he wants to, with the woman he wants to.

A new tree for a new start. The series closes as they embrace in their spot.

Nah....

It would never work....

I assumed that they live in Candleford, not far from the post office. I think I got this notion from Thomas running off to cut down the tree... ?
