Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

Ok, I've been reading since this thread started and I can resist no longer! Hello everyone and I hope you won't mind me sharing an opinion or two, and asking Angelheart a really obvious question that no one else seems to have asked her yet.

Angelheart, is there a going to be a Season 4 please? I'm sure you must know by now. If there is a Season 4 then the whole story arc business starts to make more sense. We promise not to tell!;)

I'll wave my flag right now as one of the ladies who would definitely like the lovely Mr JD to return. I'm not buying the line that he abandoned Candleford .... I believe he said to Dorcas "you torture me with possibility". He did lie, and leave yes, but he also gave Dorcas the most precious of gifts in Sydney. How awful it would be for him to see Sydney happy at the post office and be excluded himself.

Sir Tim may have been the love of Miss Lane's life, but he kind of left her too when he married the awful Lady Adelaide, so neither of the men in her life have been exactly reliable. Angelheart did say that after Ep 9 last season she thought it was too soon for her to forgive JD, AND that Dorcus would lose the Post Office if she were to marry, all I think are very relevant to the way the story has developed. Good on Dorcus for staying single this series, but hopefully now that Sir Tim looks to have bitten the dust she can move on in every sense.

Hope I've got this posting business right, forgive me if I haven't.:)

Off to check out the Emmerdale situation... hope JM isn't going to be a baddie, all the cute ones seem to be.

I suppose Laura/Daniel is an arc but i'm not really sure where it can go...

on another note where do Thomas and Margaret live now?

I was quite happy with Geogchick's explanation, and Angel hearts agreement, of the Dibber name after I had got my head around it! Now I am confused again as Laura did indeed say that was her Ma's name before she got married.

I enjoyed last night's episode. Minnie was great and I liked her attempts to discuss people leaving without mentioning her sisters (and falling asleep!)

I love Tom Conti and I liked Mr Repington (is that it? I can't remember now!) sparring with Dorcas. Dorcas is always going to 'butt in' - partially because it's her nature and partially because as much as they complain about it -- everyone expects her to on their behalf.

Emma's girlish response (and guilt!) to enjoying the officer smiling at her was sweet. And I thought Robert did some pretty fancy writing on the paper which is why she didn't recognise it as his handwriting. I expect he doesn't write that way all the time.

And Ruby's departure -- I thought it was well handled, I certainly shed a tear. I love the Pratt's and like some others hope she'll be back soon with a husband and baby.

Although it was a long time ago, I remember being 20, don't be hard on yourself, especially on your Birthday, and don't drink, it's not all it's cracked up to be!

Well I really loved it last night! I have no issues with the writers using Flora's story very loosely, it's still written very much in the style that Flora wrote and that's the important thing, to me anyway.
I became a fan of Lark Rise because I love Victorian literature especially written by women. I adore both Edith Wharton and Mrs Gaskell and so I have read almost everything Flora has penned and am totally fascinated with anything Flora related.

I loved Twister going off on one of his fancies, I hoped it was going to return and the witches tree was such a delightful part of the story, remember the ghost of the gypsy in the Christmas story I think it was - I loved that too. Country folk were still very superstitious in those days and it was good to remind us that Queenie, as the village wise woman, would be the one who freed the spirit of the witch from the tree ( or freed the tree from its curse) - not sure which.

I wonder when the goose girl is going to feature? She is sure to sometime soon. I'm still wondering what happened to Alf's sweetheart - Nan I think.
I loved Thomas and Margaret, LOL they are starting to remind me of Roy and Hayley in Corrie:D
And of course Minnie was a scream, I bet her mum is overjoyed that she is every bit as good a comedy actress as she is herself.
Still not sure about Daniel - maybe it's the previous characters he's played:rolleyes:
Oh well, will have to watch again
PS Didn't both Margaret and Laura look to have beautiful thick lustrous hair when we saw it loose ?

I loved it! Nice bits of humour and I like seeing more of Minnie. I liked Robert and Dorcas realising (unhappily!) how much they have in common.

And the tune is floating around in my head as I type.

(And I loved when Twister told Dorcas her 'sticking her nose in' was well know up and down the country!!!)
