And what was clunky exactly? I thought the Emma storyline was very well hought out and definitely in line with their characters. And the love interest story for Laura was ok, too. You could see it coming, but then again, you were meant to see it coming because Dorcas was able to.
I loved Thomas - as usual he was hilarious, and PEarl and Ruby were really enjoyable to watch.
Why do tv stations always put the best programmes on when everybody is working? Watch on Sky are not only showing Cranford in the afternoons this week (whilst football is on) but they are also planning re-runs of LR2C according to the little snippet in the paper this morning.
Read that the Beeb plans to send loaRAB of staff to Glastonbury again this year!! That's where our money is going. How many watch that - only a million or so??
Struggling here with a new kitten keep chewing the computer wires and walking on the laptop whilst I'm trying to type!! Aagh...... LOL, she's just fell off backwarRAB!
Agreed and I apologise but ignorant postings like that really upset me, especially in an otherwise positive and intelligent thread.
Sunday's episode was truly excellent and as some others have commented it was the first of this series that I have really enjoyed. It had depth and contrast - light and shade in more ways than one and indeed is a powerful reminder of how close to disaster the life of the poor was in those days.
Ah yes! All that fuss with his coronet (sp?). You know I must have had amnesia during the night, I completely forgot about it And Thomas was VERY masterful with those curtains
I remember that 'cat that got the cream' look now! And I totally agree, I don't want any sex scenes in LRTC, it would totally spoil it. It's innocence is one of the things that I love.
I got the impression that it was definitely Margaret who was raring to go but Thomas who was holding up proceedings I think his religious devotion was getting in the way for some reason. Or maybe a total lack of confidence - poor man!
I am so mad about that. I only half watched last nights as I was intending to watch it properly tonight in HD! I've just looked in my planner (have it on series link) and it doesn't look like it's scheduled for any other time this week. It's not on BBC!!! (literally)
Believe me DC there is absolutely no chance that I will be sleeping between 8 and 9 tonight
Welcome D, the only way you'll know if it's any good is to give it a chance, and it is very good..........so give it a chance.............this is a totally biased opinion of course
I know what you mean SS, watching the Victorian Farm, Ruth said she couldn't sit in her bedroom working on her needlework for long because her fingers went numb with cold
Love that word 'nesh' I shall endeavour to use it
