Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

Hello again

Caroline was taken to prison early in series 1. She came back at some point, had her baby (Patience, the one who hasn't aged a bit and never cries!) in the Post Office, then Alf's pa came back at the end of series 1, sang Christmas carols round the table, then set off again to somewhere on the coast, and at that point my memory fades. Did she go with him? Either there or to prison again ...

JD did indeed say he would keep in touch - out of sight ... so either Dorcas isn't telling him or he isn't keeping in touch.

I think you're right Larkriser. It's got to be, and Lady A did think he'd end up coming back to Candleford at some point.

For the gossip hungry, Jason Merrills is apparently/allegedly filming a Marple at the moment so something else for us JD lovers to look forward to ... unless he's murdered in the first 5 minutes ... that wouldn't be funny at all! I'd feel cheated all over again. Check out the imdb website for more details.;)

I have the books but haven't read them, either. Like blarneygirl, I love the characters in the show so much that I don't want to see them portrayed differently (or missing altogether) in the books. I'm going to wait until the show is completely finished before reading them. I hear Dorcas is completely different than in the show so since she's my favorite character I hate to think of her otherwise. I'm sure they're fantastic books but when I do read them I'll have to completely divorce them from the show in my head while I do so.

Well, this was the first episode for me where I felt I was getting back on track with the series - yeah felt like old times abit.

OMG, trailer for next week - Lady de Winter is back...continuity is on the agenda!

I am back

miss me
i mean i havent posted in over 15 hours which is kinda a record for me

someone posted a linkn on youtube and i downloaded it and just finished watching:):)

and for the record i am not a "daft happorth" i am not sure what it means nor and i sure that i want to find out;)

this episode was really funny i thought
i adore ruby and minnie "your head dont suit your face" hahaha

i have to get used to the new sidney and ruby's new hairbut not all the new things were odd

dorcas's outfits in this episode were bangin:cool:

So many of us are saying this.

I think it is because the writers literally lost the plot after episode 9 of Series 2. Up to then, there was a natural storyline, with the characters changing and adapting and growing.
JD played a huge part in this because he was a natural and believable counterfoil to DL. If he had stayed, the story line would have followed a natural arc with them sparking off each other - married or not. There would then have been time to explore the roles of educated married women etc. In other worRAB, new arcs.

Instead of which, yet again we have busybody spinster, lovelorn youngster (and how quickly Laura falls in love - every series), bucolic Lark Rise.

It is just deja vu - and only the hope that it will improve keeps me watching.

I'm tryin'! I'm tryin'! LOL! It's been really hard coming up with something to write. So far I have the Pratts at the post office making a comment about Timothy and Minnie jumps in and opens her big mouth before Dorcas can stop her. Hah!

Yes, you are exactly right. He was just a distraction and in the end she could only think of Timothy. It was a brilliant episode in that it revealed a lot about Dorcas's feelings. Julia played Dorcas with such vulnerability in this episode that you could feel her pain.

I will conclude by saying that unfortunately the "bumptious little bloke" (yes he does wear sandals and glasses and has a beard!) is generally right! He correctly predicted the finale of series 5 of Doctor Who, he correctly said that series 4 of Torchwood would be a co-USA/UK production, he also said that Ruby Platt will be returning next year and that a major character dies!

BTW lark rise had its best overnight ratings ever last night 6.8M. 100k up on its very first episode in 2008 and 1.1million up on the same week last year

I've always thought that Daniel probably introduced the measles to Lark Rise in the first place - as he'd come from Oxford and went straight to the fielRAB. He'd been to the hospitals and places as part of this research - and the first thing he did was pick up baby Annie, so the least he could do was stay and help...

just to let you know
i will be mia from sunday until whenever i get the show
it have to watch it on a japanese website so i am at the mercy at whoever uploaRAB it
