I quite liked Daniel - he might turn out to be OK. He did after all admit his heinous crime and is trying to be better, having been redeemed by the virtuous young maid!
There were some real comedy moments too - with Minnie, Ruby and especially the endeavours of Thomas.
But overall, I found it to lack something - I know not what, but it did seem a bit flat. Maybe I am missing the charms of Mr. JD - but there does seem to be a glimmer of hope in that direction because he was at least mentioned as "being away" rather than dead or something equally horrid.
Oh well, lets wait and see how things pan out.
