Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

No, thank God!!! I just think that people should live and be happy. Some people have ambition, some people don't. those who don't will probably meet someone special, fall in love and live a blessed and contented life. those with ambition will find happiness on a different path. If krysten feels she hasn't done anything substantial, I think that's sad that she feels that way. she probably went to school, got an education, makes her parents proud. To me that's a massive success!

thanks for your kind worRAB about my advice though. I did actually used to be a samaritan!!

I felt like I was missing something in this episode...

Robert mysteriously can't sculpt anyore and then finRAB a fossil....

Dorcas goes a bit doolally...

Twister hears voices

And a tree starts crying blood....

Was I missing something that ties these all together? They all seemed to have an air of the supernatural and inexplicable about them...

As an American in England can I just say that nothing here seems like it is in the middle of nowhere. The whole island is smaller than my state. Even when you do escape to the country, it isn't too far from civilization! Plus if it is a LRTC festival, seeing the country ought to be part of it ;)

Been super busy lately but having a blast doing research! And enjoying the last few eps of Lark Rise as well. Finally had a chance to pop in and see everyone :)

Anyway, all ye good folf of this 'ere Lark Rise forum, I bid ye all good night as my eyes are 'eavy and my pilla beckons!

Will bid ye all so long for now!
Angelheart, if you come on here tonight, Huge round of applause for your performance in tonights episode and throughout the entire series!!!
Lark Riser, enjoy todays showing! Wish I could see your reaction!
NativeMoon, i will carry on agreeing to disagree, we all get used to things in our own way!

so, nite nite!

I have to agree with you now, you should take a look at the original thread which was started some years ago, the contributors were all around until this present series which has somehow "lost the plot".Where are you all?

So many of them were lovers of drama particularly costume drama and others, like myself more interested in the literary side ( I joined this thread as I am a lover of the works of the author Flora Thompson and other Victorian writers)

It certainly does have plenty of entertainment value but
the main problem I think is that it's moved so far away from the original concept and now contains almost no stories from Flora's original writings and has somehow "lost" something .
Apart from the odd episode it is relying on Sydney's cuteness and Minnie's wonderful unintended humour.

No disrespect to the actors, I still enjoy viewing, they do a wonderful job but each week I find the storylines more and more dire.
I am so hoping for a return to the old LRTC this week when Fisher drops by again , however, this will , I fear mean more Laura who is so doing our own Flora such an injustice.( I mean her persona and script - not her interpretation.

This is only my opinion of course...

soooo happy about minnie and alf
nan who?
thats right
i have been waiting for them to get together since last series :D:D:D

i thought this episode was awesome
probably because thomas and margaret werent in it
after last week they have really started to bug me

also a little confused about emily
a young girl pregnant out of wed lock
i would have thought that would have been a bigger deal
but i guess her mother has three kiRAB by different men and no one really cares
maybe lark rise is more mondern that i though

yayy fishers comin
he neeRAB a haircut
but he is still comin :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Before i go to bed I will answer this question:

yes, the BBC normally commissions 6 episodes of any drama and current/recent ones are:

Hustle
survivors
Ashes to ashes (8 episodes)
Material Girl

but in fairness, the BBC budget has been reduced so much it is surprising that Lark Rise is coming back at all! It has just been announced that historical medical drama Casualty 2009 (also 6 episodes) has been axed!

Thank you so much for your story LarkRiser. Its amazing. i look forward to logging on for the next update :) i definately love happy endings! cant wait to read more :)

Hadn't thought of it that way,

and yes I agree he was a bit too hurt about that dancing quote (when Emma said it, I found it nice that she could tease him like that - obviously HE didn't agree :)) And Emma was just teasing but she was right as in Robert is a proud man

Enjoyed last night's ep as well although I was way off track as I thought the Alf/Minnie thing would never happen. Anyone else feel that a full blown kiss like that would not have happened in the middle of a Victorian street? And in broad daylight  Still, the writer's poetic licence I suppose.

While not actually disliking Laura, as some other posters seem to, I do get frustrated at her confusion over men. She never seems to know what, or who, she wants in that respect. I couldn't help but laugh at the rapid rate her eyeliRAB were fluttering when she was having a go at Fisher for him leaving Candleford last time.

I also love Pearl's performances - her deadpan style and facial expressions are a hoot. ;)
