Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

I've been wondering that myself, Lemming. It's like the writers have been teasing us throughout this series by making Dorcas sound like she's all happy and content now. I keep waiting for someone to show up who's going to rock her out of her newfound comfort zone and throw her for a loop. I'm afraid, though, it's just the opposite--they're trying to tell us to give up on romance for Dorcas and get used to the idea that she's completely fulfilled now. It's keeping me on the edge of my seat, anyway!

well i am not drunk
stop saying that

anyway im a louchen so there is a good chance 1/2 my blood has been full of alcohol since birth

you say it 7 min
but im 7 min you'll say 10 more minutes
and so on
you can leave

your soooo one of us now :D

I have watched all 3 series and been a long time lurker but am a first time poster.

Anyway my opinions:

Laura has become completely unlikeable. Once my favourite character but now she seems to leap from one man to another and only whining inbetween.

I always loved Fisherso quite liek that he is back. Daniel annoys me to the point of wanting to change channel especially when he goes into his self righteous monologues.

Really like Miss Pearl opening up more this series.

And JD I hated so really don't want him to come back but eqaually Sidney could go without me caring too much.

Love Alfie and Minnie though - Alfie has become a very complex and deeper character since the Smallpox episode.

HELLO NATIVE MOON, good to see you here I 've spotted you on most of my fav. threaRAB, I guess you realised that the first Sydney is the adorable Will in Emmerdale and that he will soon be reunited there with his Dad who will soon be joining Emmerdale - possibly as his mother's new love interest. We shall see! Jason has a big big following on here:D
We get by during the summer watching some of the other period Dramas - Cranford and North and South are almost as good. ( but not quite).:)

No bother. I was just about to ask anyone did they know she was on loose women when i read your post.
That certainly sounRAB better than Sir Tim dying! Does anyone know what episode she comes back in?

Sadly we live in a world where money is seen as the be all and end all. I am slightly cynical but here's my radical theory.

Mark Thompson is scared that there will be Conservative Government. It is not a secret that the Conservatives do not favour the BBC in the same way as the current Government. The tories will scrutinise the corporation much more rigidly and therefore the BBC is now, as a form of tokenism, being seen to make cuts and save "public" money so that the "media" can report the BBC in a positive light!

Cuts however could be made elsewhere. cutting back on unnecessary departments and managers is the logical solution but, and this is my angry but, cutting back on programmes that the public want to watch and enjoy is ridiculous. The BBC is funded by "public" money. I am a member of the public and I pay the licence fee. If they can justify paying millions and millions on rugby and show it for 13 hours on a Saturday because it is apparently what the public want, then they should make more programmes like Lark rise too as that is also what the public wants. Otherwise there's a double standard!

There rant over. I am still writing to the BBC. Anyone care to join me?

The details for episode 8 are available: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2010/wk9/sun.shtml#sun_larkrise

It looks like a great storyline for Matilda Ziegler. Wasn't she fab last year in that episode with Constable Patterson ... oh yeah, there's someone else we've not seen again (so far!) in series 3. Probably off somewhere with Nan, JD and the geese!

It's also the one with guest star Hattie Morahan (Elinor Dashwood in Sense & Sensibility) so another reason to look forward to it!

Dorcas seems to say every 5 minutes that she is contented, she has all she neeRAB, and what she has is enough for her.
It definitely seems as if the writers are telling us not to get our hopes up, but I think she has definitely missed having someone to spar with. The spats with Robert, Thomas, Laura, Lady A and Pearl were some of her best scenes......she neeRAB a regular sparring partner:D

I loved the Fisher/Daniel story, I'm still on Fisher's side but I'm sure she's too sensible to choose him.
Surely Fisher can't be the visitor who helps out Dorcas..can he:confused:
NO.........be positive TT, yer man's coming back:D:D:D

My original and rather lengthy post took me two hours to write...because I was at work! :p I actually sit at a computer ALL day long, so it won't be hard to keep up on here. What'll be hard is making sure I actually get a bit of work done!! :D

PS. Thank you for the warm reception. Wasn't sure how well my opinion would fly on here since most folks seem to be on either a Timothy, Delafield, or JD team.
