Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

I'm a long time lurker on this thread but had to post that I agree with the above. This is the first episode of this series I have liked (I was getting worried as I've loved the previous 2).

Hopefully I will continue to enjoy the rest of it.

Yes, and I kept laughing at the dumbstruck look on Laura's face at sitting opposite of Lady Adelaide. She just kept staring at her! LOL!

No, the font wasn't finished, but the bishop didn't come so perhaps it didn't matter? I suppose Robert could finish it at leisure and then turn it round so the hole in the side didn't show!

Not sure what I think about the story arc. A credible story with a logical conclusion would be all right, but ...

I'd be happy for a return to series 1 and the first half of series 2 - a vague progression going on in the background but with quirky goings on with a different guest breezing in and then out again each week or two weeks.

I agree with this, her treatment of Daniel was disgusting. Laura is coming across as very shallow, falling in love at the drop of the hat with any half decent man that arrives in Candleford. I really dislike Laura, she is my least favourite character. I agree that it was a good episode on Sunday.

The Dorcas' mother thing could be explained away with her real mother dying and having a stepmother since she was a baby , but changing a whole family lineage just to fit a story line is beyond a joke. You could be right K too many writers who don't do their homework and take the viewers for fools. Perhaps I've gone over the top and there is a perfectly legitimate outcome to this, but going from that clip I can't for the life of me see how.
.....Perhaps ep 2 will be 'Twister Midwinter has let the ancestoral pile go to rack and ruin because he spent the whole of last year being Twister Turrill':D:D......Just call me Mr(s) Angry:mad:

Edit: and another thing............can't the cast remember who their relatives are and put the writers straight?..............alright alright I'm going now:p

Don't forget Dorcas Dibber's on tomorrow 12.30 I think:p:D:D

Thanks so much, Elinor31! I really appreciate you taking the time to read it! :)

Jump in now, Elinor! We're discussing Episode 6 today. At least I think we are! I need to write my comments in a mo'.

One question. Who the hell played the accordion while Alf was dancing? I couldn't see anyone. Maybe they were just happy to live in Lark Rise where everything is golden, and was dancing to the music in threir heaRAB. (I know... more people than Alf probably know how to play, but still...)

Lady Adelaide could have caught double pneumonia and done a proper job of it. There enter Dorcas permanently. Ouch, that was a bit below the belt.

I can see that it is simply stupendous ( as usual) now there's a contradiction. I tried hard not to linger on the worRAB you have written as I have planned to sit out in the sunshine later and read it salivating over your worRAB...

Sherry what you say about Miss Lane and Dorcas is true, it's my belief that Flora IS actually Dorcas in her story, as she became after her move to Hampshire and later, to Dorset.

I've finished my 2nd reading and have now started a wonderful piece of literature written by J. Arthur Gibbs, a Cotswold writer, born in 1867 and who died in 1899. ( only 3d1!) His masterpiece, a Cotswold village is an extraordinary piece of prose, not unlike the style of Flora's.
Reading Flora and Arthur's work makes me want to go on the trail of them, perhaps I shall plan a trip for this summer.

So Margaret is Sidney's governess is she..............wondered why she was always eating her meals at the Post Office........and why Sidney was never at school:)

I'm pleased to have this back on our screens -- it may not always be historically accurate but that doesn't bother me.

I almost always find that it's the background stories that I like best -- Thomas and Margaret's endeavors, the Pratt's sisters -- a romance, business in trouble and a new shower! And Minnie keeps me smiling.

Just lovely.

I have watched LRTC from the first series but I am not enjoying this series so far either, too many reasons to list at the moment. This is my first post on this thread but have always lurked, here and the previous thread. Imo series 1 has been the best.
