Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

Thanks for the episode info paracletelux and the info on Hattie Morahan - I enjoyed her performance in Sense and Sensibility too.

I've just found a link to a newish online article with Ben Aldridge, Laura's new squeeze:

I enjoyed last week's episode - Minnie's truthful outbursts were great. Ruby and Pearl were very entertaining. Thomas and Margaret show potential. Not sure yet about the Laura/Daniel relationship, he may yet shape up if the episode guides are anything to go by. And let's hope Dorcas gets a bit more screen time soon. Roll on episode two ...

Welcome back Angleheart. Hope the filming was good!

I am snowed in at the mo - haven't been out of the house since Thursday! The main road is passable - but you have to get there first - and my road is very skiddy.
I wonder how Lark Risers managed in olden times for food etc under the same conditions.
Well, only 1 day to go! :)

I love this series; for Dorcas to have had a new love-interest would have sullied her reputation in those times, and I feel she neeRAB to be remain the steadfast person she is, at least for a while. Also, it would probably detract from the Alfie and Minnie storyline that seems to be developing. It would ruin the series IMO to have too many romances going on and that is not what LRTC is supposed to be about. My only bugbear is Laura. Does she have a different expression she could use instead of the vacant one and the very slightly surprised one?

Quite liked tonight's episode, nice to see CB leading the line acting wise.............and at last I'm warming to Daniel...........Next week's the big one tho..........and I'm not going to be home in time...........hope it goes onto iplayer immediately:D

I think he'll be back L purely because of the stupid way he was written out last series................but honestly right now I'm beginning not to care ................Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm so mad ...............and sad:(

I know his face but I can't seem to recall anything he's been in.........was Close My Eyes the one where Clive Owen was a policeman going blind?

I've been wondering the same thing.........I would like to get the theme tune as my ringtone........or rather when I get a more modern phone (my is nearly 6 years old....antique:D) I would like to get the theme tune as my ringtone:)

I agree--if she can't have her one true love then I'd like her to stay unattached as her own woman. Anyone else would be second best for her anyway. She doesn't need to "settle" for anyone!

No, there is no love interest for Dorcas in series 3 which I was glad of. Yes, I doubt they will give her one just within six episodes of series 4! But it is a shame that Dorcas wasn't able to have Timothy. She has such a passion burning inside of her and it's always fun to watch her sparring with a man! There is an episode in series 3 that you're about to come up to--it's one where Lady Adelaide comes back for just that episode--where Dorcas says something to Adelaide that I just couldn't believe about why she really didn't marry Timothy. You will probably be as floored as I was by what she says because it just does NOT ring true to the feelings she portrayed in series 1 for him. She says it like she means it, too. I just comfort myself by saying that she must have only been saying it to put Adelaide at ease and was making the sacrifice for both her and Timothy. Otherwise, I refuse to believe it.

Since they won't give us Timothy back for her, the only other way I could give in to having Dorcas find someone else is if the man is completely worthy of her. Maybe if he was dark and mysterious and every inch her equal in intelligence and depth of feeling and someone that SHE wants to pursue. Also, if they give a go-ahead for a series 5 and not rush anything through just to contain it all in six episodes.

AMEN, sister!! :D

i agree
however he really sought out dorcas to go with him because he's in love with her and wants to be around her as much as possible
because lets face it he doesnt need anyone to come with him
if his wife was to come down with a "chill" he could have easily just gone alone
