Lark Rise To Candleford Series 3

SounRAB great- I only have season one on DVD though :o

As for tonight - it was brilliant!!

Thought the Laura/Daniel/Fisher triangle was handled beautifully and loved that moment with her mother where she talked about the difference between being a girl and a woman.

Alf and Minnie - well at the moment they work, I suppose, but married? - she'll drive him crazy she's such a dim nutjob. He could do with love and laughter - but the scatterbrained mad hatter that is Minnie is a lot of work ong-term.

Loved, loved loved the townsfolk and Lark Risers gathering round Dorcas to save the Post Office. Angelheart had me welling up :o:o:o - and that's not something that happens to easily in this neck of the wooRAB!

12 episodes is not enough. I'm another Statesider used to longer seasons of at least 24-26... greedy! lol :D

:eek:Oh AH you should get yourself a Union Rep to improve your working conditions:D:D:D

You coming off the sugar again K? :D

Talking to myself today then............never mind I'm good at that:p

Thank goodness for amazon.co.uk and region-free players. I just ordered In the Bleak Mid Winter, The Flint Street Nativity, and the complete series of Time Gentlemen Please. :)

Wow, someone who agrees with me. And out of step with me too, but thats nothing unusual. Except for the stuff about Daniel. I like him, everyone seems to hate him, can't understand why. Probably because all the girls love a bad boy. I can't stand Fisher personally, he's shifty and no good for Laura!

Shame it's taken so long for it to get good, this and last week's have been superb. Well, I guess it had to happen, Laura loses her man again for this season ready for the next one to arrive next season. Love her confusion and doubt, bless her.

I'm not keen on the Minnie/Alf romance either, I mean, I love her as a character she provides great comedy, but, like you say, it just doesn't do it for me.

Question for the folks in the Sir Timothy camp. How does it play out? If Sir Timothy does come back, he's still married. How does this end well for Dorcas? Are you rooting for Lady Adelaide to be the one who dies?? :D

What has happened to the idea of watching Ep1 series 1 again?
I had lent my set out but managed to wrestle them back from my (ex) friend and had a wonderful morning yesterday watching it. What struck me most was the difference in colour, not quite so golden the first episode.
We're overjoyed to be able to watch Foyle's war here in the UK on Sunday night, I think in its 7th series, now set at the end of the war and moves between Brighton, Hastings and London.
More wonderful drama. (ITV1)- the cars, the clothes, the buses.:)

Also loving Born and Bred

i kno i am just messin

we're all over it and no one speaks in any hush tone

oh and they are doing an american version of who do you think you are
i saw the promo the other night

That's so interesting what you said about the book and Flora having had a dalliance with one of the local gentry. I haven't read the books yet although I plan to one of these days. I guess I've been putting it off because I had heard that Miss Lane was so much older and not "our" Miss Lane in the show. Since Dorcas is my favorite character I didn't want the books to influence how I see her in the show.

No, I have not heard anything from Steve. I sure hope he's all right!

I'm not sure Dorcas walking off into the sunset happily married would be right, a bit too predictable, it's not up to me though. We shall have to wait and see what Mr.Gallagher has up his sleeve, I know as much as you do.

While I basically agree with that point, UK TV has no problem in getting big audiences for one sort of long running prime time series - far longer than their equivalent in the USA - namely the soaps.

The only soap I follow is The Archers, but there does seem to be a way of churning out episodes in Coronation Street and Eastenders that keeps the viewers coming back for more.

Sorry to change the subject, but I recently was rewatching some episodes of AbFab and one of the funniest scenes I have ever seen was the one where Saffy is giving Patsy a breast exam and Gran walks by and sees them. I was laughing so hard I thought I ruptured something. Julia, how you kept a straight face doing that scene I will never know. The expressions on yours and Gran's faces were priceless! :D:D:D
Sorry, just had to mention that. Back to our regularly scheduled program....
