My chosen career is to be a dog trainer.
Most schools don't exactly rent you your own dog here, so I'd have to get my own dog to bring in to learn how to train dogs.
I know how to wash dogs, I'm very patient, I have no problem with long walks, shedding is absolutely no problem at all, none of us are allergic, I can lift up to 100lbs comfortably with a little strain, and I've walked my aunt's very rowdy uncontrollable, very strong dalmation with no problem at all.
I've studied body language for dogs so bringing it up believing I'm the pack leader is also no problem at all, and training is...obviously no problem, I'll be going to dog training school with it.
The only problem that may arise is the fact that we've got two 6 year old female cats. They're both very healthy but I love them both like crazy and I don't want any fighting going on.
Must be a large breed dog, or at least medium to large.
Any breeds you guys can think of that would be perfect for all this?
I don't think barking is a problem. There are so many ways to stop dogs from being barky dogs, including spray collars. I refuse to ruin my dog's ears with whistles or those other stupid high pitched noises that hurt it, or use shock collars. A spritzer with water works just fine, or even those collars with a built-in sprayer.
I'm also adopting! Pound or shelter. Love knows no pedigree, I refuse to buy from a breeder. I just want to know what kind of mix or dog breed I should be looking for when it comes up to it.
Please don't just list your favourite dog breed...this doesn't help. And if you list a breed tell me why you suggest it.
I've nothing against pit bulls or ANY dog breed. My favourites are dobermans, huskies and shiba inus actually. Dobies have a bad rep.
But please, if you list a breed, give me a reason! Usually gentle and easy to work with, or it's good with cats, anything but "This one lol" and that's it. x_x
