Hello. I currently have a 26" Sanyo DP26649 television w/ 2 HDMI ports. Also, I have a 14" Acer Aspire Timeline 4810TZ laptop computer with 1 HDMI port. For over 6 months I have been connecting my HDMI cable between the two devices for an HD experience, complete with sound which is routed out of my TV via an RCA cable to my component stereo receiver. Today when I plugged my computer into the HDMI cable, a message came upon my TV which indicated I was using a DVI cable and needed to attach a separate audio cable. Why is this? I no longer get sound through my TV, but only through my laptop. When I force audio through my HDMI, no sound emits at all. Even when I eliminate the receiver altogether, there is no resolution... Please help!
> Good suggestions so far *thanks*, but my HDMI cable previously sent both audio and video to my television... I tried through my girlfriend's computer as well with the same result: no audio. So, I believe it's the cable. I will replace that and see. Other ideas? (thanks again!)
