Landline phones suck

I don't really want an OMG cool ringer just for the fuck of it. maybe i'd like an audio cue that lets me know who the caller is before i dash out of the bathroom spraying urine all over the place to answer the phone. maybe flashy lights serve the same purpose for a deaf user (easy enough to add generic lights, but not "ringtone" lights).

WTF have you been for the last decade? it's ALL ABOUT niche marketing these days. Technology enables the "niche economy" and the Internet enables the supplier and the consumer of niche products to easily find each other. if i want some of these features wtf should you care? i've listed the useful features several times. they're just not useful to you. so what? don't use 'em. why do you care so much if someone wants to supply 'em to me?

yeah. i have a computer or three. so what? i have a fucking phone in every room of the house. I think you've got a sense of me from my other posts. I'm all about convenience man. make MY life easier at a reasonable cost and i'll give you money. wow. what a fucking concept!

the POINT is that they no longer innovate and improve their product. it's hardly any different than the days when you turned a crank on a wooden box to make a call. yeah, you can make video calls today, but not b/c of the telcos. independent companies figured out how to do it for pennies compared to the telcos 2001 Space Oddesy vision. and they did it using the telcos existing infrastructure.

Why are you such a tool for the corporate interests of AT&T and the Baby Bells?

have you ever heard of 'dark fiber'? There are TONS of fiber laying dormant all over america. but you have the right idea on that. i wonder though if all the luddites on this forum will now start attacking your idea of telcos offering video services b/c after all we already have cable companies that do such a superb job doing that. hahahahaaha.

NICHE MARKETING is where it's at. If you don't want a $20 phone that does the things I described don't buy it. Buy a $40 phone that looks cool instead but does less. or buy the $20 phone and just ignore the features you don't want to use.

Like I said up above--it's all about making things easier for ME. make something I want at a reasonable price and I'll give you money!
