Yes surgery at HSS was last Tues. (Thanks for remerabering)..All went well only one level fused L3-L4 (L3-4-5) decompressed and synovial cyst removed....Was in hosp. 6 days instead of 3....didn't want to rush out until I could attempt the stairs.
Still very weak and only taking Darvocet for pain...After they took out catheter I got a urinary tract infection..so also taking antibiotics...
I'M SO GLAD IT'S OVER.........NOW ON TO RECOVERY.
THE SATIN SHEETS ARE THE BEST TO HELP SLIDE OFF THE BED.
I'm totally pooped....of to sleep early..Kinda pushed it today.
Here I am.........Yes Dr. Cammisa was my surgeon at HSS.....
I've been great with the walking but sitting at the computer is torture and alot of strain..Sorry I haven't written.
TODAY was my first really good day...totally showered on my own, PT gal came and walked a bit and did some simple stretches on the bed...AGain the satin sheets really helped....The only real negative is a nurabness in my butt and down my right thigh...right where my severe sciatica was...
The constipation on Monday was something out of a horror movie but after Miralax and a cocktail of prune juice and milk of magnesia (disgusting)
finally some relief.
And I feel very tired.....but I'm resting and laying flat rather than really napping...Like to keep my sleep for the evening..........Only taking Darvocet for the pain....
Moldova...were you pleased w/ Dr. C......I have nothing but positive things to say about him...He even visited by beRABide 2-3 times..I heard from many I'd never see him again for 2 months..
Trying to eat right and get strong..
MAny thanks to you all...Sorry if I've missed many postings...not much attention span...
Laf, congratulations on making it to the other side. Remeraber that we are here for you if you have any questions or just want to talk. I am lifting you up in prayer for a easy recovery.
I don't even own a recliner. I am comfortable sitting up and have been from the first day.
I agree about the reading. Sometimes I find that my eyes will jump a bit if I am taking my pain pills, so it makes reading small print difficult!
I would be more eager to leave the house if we didn't have tons of snow outside. I haven't driven yet. As long as I'm on pain pills my husband doesn't want me to drive.
I feel great except for the weird pains in my leg (sometimes both legs).
