Happy 4th of July to everyone...

As I reported I have had groin pain (feels like a pulled muscle) since my posterior lurabar fusion (L3-L4) this past February....It's been 5 months next week...After complaining at PT and to the surgeon an MRI and xrays ( hip/pelvic area) were ordered....My surgeon hasn't read the film yet but the hopital that did the scan reports that there is not anything significant caused by the surgery....This is good news and I pray when the Dr. reviews everything he agrees...Still might be temp. nerve damage cause by the bone (hip) graft.

Hope everyone continues to heal and is feeling less pain everyday...My back actually is feeling pretty going..until I sit ot stand for too long..but that's expected.

Happy 4th...

Laurinda;)

in the meantime laying low regardign pt and walking as much as possible

WOW ~ They sure take their sweet time to look at a test result, don't they?? How many weeks has it been?

I'm glad you're doing OK. You hadn't posted in awhile, so we always wonder when that happens.

The pain in my thigh has decided to get worse. I suppose it is because I have been quite a bit more active since Memorial Day. I really can't walk very far before the pain in my right thigh kicks in. It gets progressively more intense the more I'm on my leg. If I sit down, the pain usually goes away. I go see my surgeon on the 17th. I think he will order x-rays at that point to see if I am fusing. I am getting curious...

Have a wonderful holiday...do you have plans? My son is only around a couple more days before he and bride pack the rental truck and move half-way across the country. I miss him already. Somehow this seems much more permanent than when he went away to college.:(

Hey MM........

Well..the surgeon still hasn't interpreted my results but I went to the hospital where I had it done and they printed out my report from the radiologist..From what I can gather...the x-rays show moderate loss of cartilage in the hip area...moderate osteoarthritis...sure some of this was there before surgery..Wonder if the bone graft aggravated it..they also note an effusion which I read up on and is a fluid build up...Again since I didn't have this before surgery something seems to have gotten inflammed...Perhaps that can remove the fluid like they do on people's knees????

Also the MRI shows.....There are adjacent degenerative changes w/ borderline compromise of the central canal at L2-L3 and mild central canal stenosis at L4-5..Which I knew already.

Guess I have to wait for the "expert"

No big plans for the 4th..just family tomorrow and a friend's BBQ Sat if it doesn't rain.

Sorry to hear you are hurting again..sounRAB like you were maybe doing too much too...Enjoy your time w/ you son and daughter-in-law..But don't forget you can always visit...

Have a good weekend.
