Lady Lovely Locks & The Pixietails

From one of our old videos from a very long time, have you heard of this marvelous classic 80s series called Lady Lovely Locks, it was a great oldies series:D with great animation, lovable characters, & fascinating designs which reminded me of Rainbow Brite, Duchess Ravenwaves, the idiot henchman Hairball, & those evil little creatures were my favorite childhood villains(next to Murky,Dark Paw & Cyril Sneer)which she was the best evil bratty princess-type compared to Azula & Master Cyclonis from Storm Hawks.

I vaguely remember Lady Lovelylocks. I saw a couple of the episodes on the syndicated Kideo TV. It replaced Rainbow Brite on the shows' lineup, IIRC. Lovelylocks was basically another cartoon tie in to sell a line of dolls. I don't recall anything about the series that was really stand out, but as previously stated, I only saw a couple of episodes.

Good gosh-- we had those dolls.

I remember I'd dug one up out of basement storage one time a few years back and for the life of me, couldn't remember what line it was from! Well, now I know! Edit: haha! I found an info page about it-- http://ladylovelylocks.org

I had a Duchess Ravenwaves, lol. I vaguely remember the show though.

Yes, I know the show. I had a few of the dolls - there's even a picture of me holding one.

I rewatched a few episodes some time ago, and it was really, really corny - that "real life" Lady at the beginning just cracks me up. My friends and I even developed a few in-jokes about it when we need a good laugh :) I still like the show, though, if only for nostalgia.

Hehehehehe... I loved this cartoon when I was little, not because it was actually a good cartoon, but because I thought it looked pretty and it featured female leads. Now that I'm older, more cynical, and in many ways even more stupid, I realize how hollow the plots were and how tacky the designs were. And I can't help but laugh at the fact that Lovely Locks had small critters living in her hair... sounds unsanitary... But I still have a special place in my heart for Star Fairies... see, I told you I'm even more stupid now.

Looking back, Lady Lovelylocks was somewhat stereotypical. The main character (Lady Lovelylocks herself) was blonde, while the villain, Duchess Ravenwaves, had black hair. Note how often on "girlie" shows, the nice girls will either be blonde or be redheads, while the mean rival girls will usually have black or dark hair. Except for Kagome on InuYasha, I can't think of any show where the nice main girl had black hair. And I don't know if Kagome should count, as Kagome is Asian and Asians generally have black or dark hair.
