Well, while at Bay Orthopedic on Friday for more adjustments on my brace, the orthodist told me she wanted me to get a one piece body suit with a built in under wire bra. She said that since I need to wear a light, tight fitting garment underneath the brace anyways, that I should go with an all in one bodysuit plus she said for women my size, I'll have a lot more support.

So I think the hubby and me are going to go out later today and do a little lingerie shopping. Not sure how I am going to try anything on in the store, I guess maybe I will buy a few sizes that I think will fit and try them on when I get home.

I will let everyone know how it works out.

Hello Ladies,

As some of you already know, I was injured in a horseback riding accident a few weeks back and am now recovering in a CTLSO Back/Neck Brace (Basically a Hard Shell Body Jacket that goes from my hips to my collar bone and has a metal neck brace attached to the top for cervical support - YUCK!!)

Anyway, my question for all you ladies out there that have had to wear a Hard Shell Brace or a CTLSO is, are you supposed you wear a bra underneath your Hard shell or not? Seems like the brace kinda supports you there so I have not been but I read somewhere that you should if you are larger than a C cup. I guess I should have asked more questions when I was there last week for an adjustment but with everything going on, it just slipped my mind.

Thanks for everyone help and support!

Andrea

I don't think there's any rule of thurab about this. Do whatever feels most comfortable for you. If the brace gives you enough support, enjoy not having to wear one. If you like the extra support a bra gives you even with the brace, it's no problem to wear it. I did on some days and didn't on others, depending on how I felt.

Good question!

I have never had that type brace but I think I would wear a sports bra to prevent chaffing.

That is why one wears a Tshirt - cotton one under it to prevent the chaffing. I also used baby powder.

Hey DietDrpepper, you are right that is why I made sure I got the one that has the crotch with a front closing panel with a hook and eye catch. It is a little hard to reach being strapped into this brace but it seems to work pretty good so far.

Just had a heat wave the past few days and I am a little more comfortable (all things considered) than I was before.

Ok Shawley,
How did you sneak in here with that?? --- remeraber, this thread was for the ladies! But, Ok , you opened yourself up so here goes; if you do like wearing bras maybe you should post your message on the Sexual Health BoarRAB, I'm sure there are some interesting discussions going on over there about men wearing women's lingerie! --- ha, ha -- just kidding , thanks for the laugh, too bad it hurts so much when I do though (physically, that is) ---- mentally, it just what the doctor ordered!

Andrea
