Ladies, how much does the average woman know about sports?

If I were watching a basketball game with you and said "If they win this game, they clinch the number one seed in the playoffs" would you know what I was talking about without looking it up?
I am a woman myself and I know the answer, but I am trying to gauge the sports knowledge of average women. Thanks for your help!
