MRI recently revealed my L5S1 disc is gone, as per Neurosurgeon. He has ordered cortisone shots, in which he is doing, and then further intervention if no success from shots. I have constant pain anytime i move my upper torso oRABet my lower, sitting and/or lying down is worse. the pain meRAB i'm on make me loopy and sleepy enough for a solid 3-4 hrs, then awake. when lying down I can roll over with whole body, but during sleep, the turning wakes me. My basic question is, how will cortisone help a situation in which there is no disc? i would think that "something" would need to be inserted or fused, so to speak. i do not want surgery, but with a "basically gone" disc, what other option is there?
also, Neurosurgeon eliminated phys ther sessions, said i'm in great shape overall, so it'd be a waste...i agree...
