My surgery was on July 5, 2008.... I had unilateral foot drop on the left side.. The same side of my nerve pain/constant muscle spasm. Still having problems with the left leg.. The Dr. says, the nurabness and sensations are normal. The sensations are unbearable... But now discovering I can not move the Leg itself more than 3 inches off the ground. This the 1st I've tried to move... Dr. does not know this yet. I'm hoping PT in time with re-generate the nerves...Have not scheduled PT yet, another couple weeks. Has anyone experienced this before?

Did you have surgery soon after the foot drop began? When you say you can't move the leg more than 3", are you referring to lifting it off the ground (like taking a marching step)? Again, you are just a month out from surgery, so it is too early to tell much of anything. Try to relax, take good care of yourself, follow your surgeon's directions, eat very nutritiously, lots of lean protein and vegetables, walk and REST. Healing takes lots of energy. Don't try to rush it!!

It's a WC case.. My condition deteriorated very quickly. It was 5 days waiting for the MRI, by that time i started experiencing weakness. Then, 2 days later when I saw the surgeon I couldn't move my foot.. I was in the hospital the next day.
I'm able to lift my leg bend, like marching... but when it is straight I cannot... the same if I'm laying down and leg is straight..3 inches max.. THanks for listening. I'm eating a balanced diet and taking it easy. But am nervous about the leg.. it's basically paralyzed to a degree. God Bless you guys.
