I wondering if anyone would be able to help me with my problem that I am having, or if they have had simialr problems also? I will start with my past then, then work to the future. The First thing is that I have an ACDF C-5,C-6, C-7 Back in 2004. Then I ended up having a Spinal Cord Stimulator placed in Back in 2005. Then has the SCS reseted in 2006. About a few months later I started to have lower back pain, and was getting the Epidural Shots, Nerve Blocks, Physical Therapy, and different types of medication and also losing weight, all of which has not helped. I am still in pain. The Symptoms that I having and that I had was, Lower back pain, Nurabness in the back that also traveled down into the legs and feet and toes. This came and went. Sometime stayed more then went. Walking at time was a pain in the you know what. There are times when I can only walk around for about 15 - 20 minutes and then I feel like one of the ELDERLY people that I see shuffling around in the stores. I need to know that I am not alone in this. There are times I think I am losing it cause I think some of what I feel might be in my head because I have been going thru ut for so long I dont know what is right and what is wrong.

Hi Chet,
Welcome to the board! Sorry you are having so much pain. Have you had a recent MRI to see if your surgical site is still intact? What does your doc say about all the pain?
I am contemplating a SCS. How has this worked for you, especially has it helped the nerve pain in your legs?

Deb

Do you know what problems you're having in your lower lurabar spine? Are you being treated by a spinal specialist? Has anyone suggested surgery to you?

Cant have an MRI with the SCS nor the metal implant in my neck. The SCS has worked for my upper part of body butnit is not set for the lower part of my back. that would require them running another lead into my spinal cord. Other than that I would recommned it if your doctor thinks you are a canidate. you do have to pass a psyc test though. As for the Pain he said the surgery time was up to me and on how long I want to live with the pain. Them Pain Management Doctor is not aware of the new arisings as of yet, I have an apoointment with him in 3 weeks, but I am going to call him and see what he has to say. Since I just now also Found out myself

In the L4 -L5 I have bulging degenerating discs that are crushing the nerves that my Neuro wants to go in shave down the bone.. He is saying that I should be out about 4 weeks from work. My thing is just getting the nerve to have it done. see the thing is everytime i go for a surgey i end up with a slight infection, I think that my white blood cells are not good when i goo for the suregery and cant reproduce during this time so they rebel.

Hi Chet,
Even though the SCS is for the upper spine.....did you have nerve pain that you were addressing? Did it help with that? I had a laminectomy L5-S1 in June 07 and have permanent nerve damage on the right from the injury, not the surgery. I have nerve pain from hip to toes ranging in pain from 2-8. The PM feels I am a candidate and I've been dragging my feet (actually my right foot does drag at times ;) ) I wanted to try to control medically with meRAB but now I think I've changed my mind. Thanks for any input.
