I had the discography done last week, week ago exactly from today and now seen the doctor today to go over the results and what steps we should do to fix the problem.
I have a choice of Percutaneous Discectomy Probe (which was the first choice, until he seen that we had only done a medial branch block injection prior to the discography. So now he is thinking of epidural injection for these 3 disc. First epidural will be next Thurday 9/11/08. I not really sure which would be better to do first. (though with the discography being fully conscious), I have to admit to being a bit scared of the pain, (even if they do use a twilight sleep for the Percutaneous Discectomy Probe). Last week procedure is was ugly, and painly to say the least and very vivid in my mind at the moment.
We decided to try go with the epidural injections at the moment as, this is a bit less invasive than that of the other.
Any ideas? thoughts? Does anyone know what either of these procedure is like, and the recovery? Will these possibly bring me some relief. The pain is getting worse, and I am always in constant pain. Yesterday was the most unbearable pain that I have been in, in a long time.
I am just frustrated and tired of being in pain all the time. At ony being 39 in the last 2 years my life has changed so dramatically and have lost so much of the things I enojoyed doing, and also not having to rely on others to do house work, and other things.
