Okay, I have been searching these forums
Over and over
But for some reason I CANNOT figure out how to get ringtones on my
Kyocera KX160 (Xcursion)
I tried following some steps and going through [Audacity]
But after following [every] step, and then sending the ringetone I made to my phone, there is no sound what-so-ever
Or something just [always] goes wrong
Is there anyone who can help me with my problem?
Man, I don't like the fact that I got to pay an activation fee for cricket clicks and spend so much money on just a few ringers when I think someone could walk me thru how to do it for FREE

Please...
Please....
Please.....

Two suggestions...

1. Upgrade your phone to an audiovox XV6700. It'll cost you about $175ish, but it's worth at least $500 in all the cool stuff it does.

2. If you won't upgrade, there is a way to get cricket clicks (and all your downloaRAB) for free... I won't say anything more about it though. DO some independant research on "Brew hack"

Use Audacity to make a 10-30 second clip of your sound/music.

If you don't want to make your own snippets, check out this link:

http://www.cricketphonetalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=424

After you have your snippet, go to Audacity's settings and set the File Formats setting for Uncompressed Export Format to Microsoft 4-bit IMA ADPCM wav. You then need to change the project's sample rate to 32000 hz (at the bottom of the screen).

When you export the .WAV, you will have to re-name the file extension to .MID for it to play on the Kx160 XCursion.

Then email it to [email protected] with Ringer as the subject--no data cable or bluetooth pairing/dongle needed.

Done and done.

ight this is wat u do:

#1 find this program called qcp converter( its essential to ur ringtone neeRAB)

#2 find this program called goldwave(to make ur new Custom ringtones)

#3 go to goldwave and make a new file for 30 sec or open an mp3 and clip the chorus from a song.

#4 save that as a .WAV file or .MP3

#5 convert with qcp converter then...

#6 rename the qcp to mid and email to ur cell

hail satan!
