"KuroKami" to Broadcast in US, Japan and Korea Simultaniously

Well, that's certainly audacious of them. The first simultaneous airing. I guess they wanted to beat Funi to the punch on that count. Funi has been wanting to do something like this for a while now.
 
Woah woah woah, this is downright amazing. Simulcast in three countries with an English dub cast with people from LA and NY (perhaps some Texas folks too... probably Vic). That's really something it truely shows the future or what it could be. One problem though, I can't help but shake my head at the fact that it's ImaginAsian that's airing the movie instead of a channel that is more available to folks in other regions of the US. Sci-Fi would have been nice but they'd have to work with Manga to pull that off and they probably don't want more fingers in the pie...

But what more neeRAB to be said than this is something Cartoon Network should have done. Granted the content level might be too high but considering they play TV-14 animated movies in prime time it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. The fact that CN did not help make this possible speaks volumes and further cements what we already know, anime is done on Cartoon Network (with a few exceptions). The old CN would have picked up the rights for sure. It is a sad sad time to be an anime fan without money to buy DVRAB.
 
Vic will probably be involved, I don't see him passing something like this up. XD

I didn't really say this, but I'm hoping this is the future of anime of TV. Around the same time period, the show broadcasts in Japan and the US. I am really shocked that Sci-fi didn't make a go at this, but it involves making a deal with Manga and as somebody said, they probably didn't want a 4th party involved.

I am also shocked Adult Swim is having no part of this either. It would have been one heckuva way to kick off AS' 2008 considering the acquisition binge AS has been on. I think that this is a sign that Bandai's relationship with CN/AS has severely worsened, if not a sign that anime on CN/AS is doomed. Bandai is showing major clout by doing this, more clout than FUNimation, even. I can see Bandai having a huge 2009, especially if this show takes off.

Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Bandai has effectively court-ordered AS to finish Code Geass in a watchable timeslot, and when a company has to do that, relationships will inevitably be strained, possibly to the breaking point.
 
I expect Bandai and CN are done.

I also expect it was Bandai's influence in Japan that got them this gig rather than FUNimation who at this time has no Japanese branches and thus co-ordinating this would have been much more difficult for them even with the strong connections they have been building in Japan.
 
I have. Jason Griffith really surprised me as Keita. As much backlash he gets for Sonic and One Piece, he does a stellar job here. I enjoyed Laura Bailey's Kuro a lot, and the rest of the cast aces as well. Mike Sinterniklaas and Marc Dirason should be giving themselves a pat on the back for making this work.

However, for the show itself, the pacing is a bit off near the end. And, fans of the manga may cringe on the changes they've made on the story, especially Keita. Though, the action was brutal and satisfying.

Griffith is not bad as Sonic just he replaced the perfect actor for Sonic. Thats where most of the backlash comes from. His Sonic voice is pretty good but face it the voice of Sonic before him was just so much better.
 
I decide to use this thread instead of making a new one. Kurokami is now out on Crunchyroll and Bandai You Tube page. Seems pretty good so far.
 
Well just finish watching the first episode and so far I am hooked.It started a bit slow at first but once Kuro enter the picture it became really exciting. Jason as Keita sounRAB pretty good. The ending was pretty shocking and unexpected. Not bad so far.
 
Yeah, I started watching this when Bandai put it on their YT channel.

Man, that first episode really draws you in (Jeez, way to end an episode!)
