Kung Fu Panda Trailer

Yeah. TMNT, Yin Yang Yo, Skunk Fu, and now this?!

Net Note-It seems that Pandas are again on the rise as funny animal characters. Last
time there was a funny animal character who was a panda was Walt Lantz's Andy
Panda.

Does this have something to do with Ranma 1/2? And why is Jack Black beating up on Totoro?

DreamWorks proves once again that Pixar is way out of their league.

Wow. And Jeffrey Katzenberg thinks this would be it's next Shrek. This movie doesn't look good at all. And typical of Dreamworks, they put too much emphasis on celebrity voice acting, which is stupid.

I can't wait to see Bee movie though. That has a fun not to mention, original plot.
And when I mean original, it's not done too death.

Oh my. That brought back bad memories of when Sybil Danning did a video intro for Ninja Warriors. It was a lot less painful to watch than Jack Black's intro because at least Sybil Danning was nice to look at.

As for the movie itself, there isn't really anything in the trailer that I'm looking forward to. Mainly because....
-too much focus on kung-fu
-relying too much on it's talent than the story
-Jackie Chan voicing a monkey? Talk about a stretch.

I'm trying to reserve judgement for the final product, but as it stands, Kung-Fu Panda just seems so bland.

I laughed, but that's the main issue: the funny stuff wasn't in the clips from the film, but in Jack Black's clowning. Unless, they have some sort of live-action, "Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos"-style wraparound, this could be a problem.

Not to sound pedantic, but shouldn't that be that Dreamworks is way out of Pixar's league?

Translation: Dreamworks made an animated movie.

I do want to see Bee Movie. I really want to see Jerry Seinfeld outside of the quintillionth rerun of his sitcom I watch every day. The only other thing I can remember him doing was the voice of Compu-Comp on Dilbert. Plus it does look enjoyable, plus he wrote it which at least looks interresting.

Thank god it isn't about a Dog. I don't know how many more times I can take hearing "Who let the Dogs Out?" or a crappy rape of George Clinton's "Atomic Dog."

Well, TMNT is from 1985.... But it seems to me the only reason why Skunk Fu was made was to cash on this film's inevitable success.

I think I'd probably see it. I really hope it wasn't as bad as Shark Tale, but even then, Jack black was pretty good in it. After watching that, I was glad Will Smith turned down the role of Osmosis Jones.

[/quote] Also I notice they're being type-cast as "Senseis" (Master Teachers).

There have been animated movies which weren't just celebrity actor vehicles. Almost everything Disney, Pixar, and Ghibli have done, just to give a few major examples.

Let me restate that

DREAMWORKS made an animated movie. That's basically what most of their films have been like as of late. I will say that Over the Hedge was much more low keyed than the others, and actually worked well as a story. Madagascar has some charm to it as well. But the others are just loud and gratuitous.

I honestly think Pixar is the only one to actually attempt to make human characters part of their stories and not just villains or supporting roles. Beowulf is like the first CGI movie in a couple years to feature humans in lead roles.

"I'd kiss you but I have puke breath."

But seriously: Jack Black comedic vehicle, Dreamworks-hey-look-we-got-celebrity-to-do-voices-movie, and the painfully predictable use of 'Kung-fu Fighting': never has a movie screamed 'disaster' this much since Wing Commander.

The only good thing that I'm going to get alot of Pandaren jokes out of this; seriously thou couldn't they just got Blizzard cinematics and Samwise to make a Panadren movie instead of this.

The ACTUAL teaser trailer is available for viewing at Moviefone.
I still don't want to see that. They have one more chance to change my mind, and that's the trailer that'll be shown several months before the film's release.
