Kung Fu Panda - suitability?

Yep. Here's what the bbfc said on bbfc.co.uk:

"KUNG FU PANDA is a CGI animated children's comedy, about a cheerful, overweight Panda, who is amazed at being selected and trained as his village's top martial arts Dragon Warrior, in order to battle a feared Snow Leopard fighter. It has been classified at 'PG' for mild martial arts action.

The mild martial arts action is very stylised and fantastical, with an emphasis on swooping and flying. There are mostly over-exaggerated kung fu moves, with occasional kicks and blows to the head and torso, and one encounter has a character putting his hanRAB around another's neck and tightening. It was felt that a couple of the martial arts fights go slightly beyond what the BBFC Guidelines recommend at 'U': 'Mild violence only. Occasional mild threat or menace only'.The film's frequent humour quickly offers relief from any mildly tense or scary moments, and the overall message is very positive. "

thanks for that. We saw a trailer for it which strangely enough was a 12, but I think that was because it took the martial arts out of context.

He wants to go and see Wall:E which we are going to take him too, but no doubt he will see posters and possibly a trailer for Kung Fu Panda and want to see that as well.

I would say so. I've seen the film and although there is a bit of fighting it's never too much and it's more humorous rather than violent.
