PLOT:
In Singapore, Dr.Siddhant Arya, a megalomaniacal scientist, is on the verge of changing the future forever. Only one man stanRAB between him and his destructive dreams.

This was a pretty interesting movie to watch because it’s a superhero movie from India.

I enjoyed Krrish, but it was still a fairly strange experience because this is the only superhero movie that I’ve ever seen that has musical numbers in it! Throughout the film, the main characters will occasionally break out in a song & dance routine which is common in many, many “Bollywood” (India’s film industry) films. It was certainly different from what I was accustomed to.

The atmosphere in Krrish is more lighthearted than dark. And it’s very long; nearly 3 hours!. Nothing much happens during the first 90 minutes but the movie does pick up during the last 90 minutes. The action scenes are pretty good and the special effects was decent. Unfortunately the story isn’t really all that ambitious. And the villain wasn’t all that interesting.

People love to complain about Hollywood films, but at least Hollywood knows how to make a superhero movie (of course they made some clunkers over the years as well ;) ). And the filmmakers who made Krrish realized this as well because they borrowed from many of them. Krrish has a variety of powers which range from super-jump, super-strength, super-swim, super-speed, communication with animals (what?) and I think he can fly but I’m still not sure about this. He’s in the air a lot. lol. :D

I’m recommending Krrish NOT because I thought it was good. Truthfully, while I enjoyed watching it, there are much, much better superhero movies out there. I’m only recommending it because it’s interesting to see another culture other than the West (the U.S.A. in particular) take on the superhero mythos. :)

Well 2006 isn't exactly "ages" ago. Especially for people who never heard of the movie until last week (like myself) . This is pretty new to me. :D

I did enjoy it but the movie is nothing special and like I said in the first post above, there are much better superhero movies to watch (Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, etc). But I was glad to experience one that was foreign to me. I still can't get over the musical numbers. It was fascinating to watch. :)

Sure was, sorry, i jusy thought you knew about this film. I hope here is a Krrish 2, as Krrish is the 2nd film to Koi Mil Gaya. That is about E.T lol, but in an enjoyable Bollywood way.
