Koi fish ? what do they represent ?

I see a lot of people that have Japanese style koi fish tattoos and i wanted know to know what exactly to koi fish represent
 
Usually a pond, or a koi fish can represent "calm" or "well being" to even "relaxation", or more into it "a person whose whole"

The exact symbolism of a koi can be known for numerous things.

Theres the black and white koi, where this can be represented as the ying-yang.

Theres the orange koi that can represent simple tranquility.


Idk... if you want more exact representation on a koi, talk to your local tattoo artist.

Real life Koi are beautiful. We've had them before, and I currently have a pure white butterfly koi (the long finned variety). Most people think of tranquility and balance when they see the koi ponds. Our koi just floats around looking beautiful. Watching fish makes you feel peaceful and its a great stress reliever as well. Maybe that's what they're going for?
