Know of any way to make something crafty out of my husband's sports newspaper articles?

My husband has a ton of sports newspaper articles about him from High School & College, football and baseball. I want to do something with them (other than a scrapbook). The articles are already cut out. We are currently finishing our bar in our basement. I thought it would be neat to be able to incorporate some of this into the bar somehow. Any ideas?

when i was in first grade we made christmas tree ornaments outta strips of newspaper. we soaked the strips in this clear glue stuff and then pasted them on top of a ballon. after a few days of a layer and lettin dry, we popped the ballon if it hadnt already shrank and then we painted them, glued in a pipe cleaner to hang it.

fun.

maybe make a football shaped wall light?

make the above paper mache pastey project on top of a football "mold", and then dremel out of the hardened newspaper mache "guiness" or "Sam Adams"...??

then get a fluorescent cool light fixure, they make 8" ones, and get the color of bulb ya like.

mount it all on a 1' x 2' section of stained n varnished maple or oak or walnut, hang it, plug it in, and see what ya think?

Under the bar top would be good, if that is possible. Shellacked to the bar as well, decoupage I guess it is called.

It seems a bit boastful to paste up your own clippings though. Maybe just use a picture or two with his funny high school haircut instead (everyone had a funny haircut in high school)

If you could find a sports locker, you could decoupage them on it (or inside the door for that extra nostalgia kick) carefully so they remain readable.

Or you could arrange them in the form of a whole newspaper page all about his school career and have it framed.

Or, you could get some vinatge liquor bottles and use the articles as labels and display them on the bar.

It's such an awesome idea to incorporate them! Lucky husband!
