know any war story about a guy that jumps on a bomb to save lives?

like he jumped on a bomb to save the lives of others and lived threw it, it can be fiction or non-fiction ?
what medals would they receive also?

There was a Marine stationed out of Kaneohe Hawaii that did that Padila or something like that dont remember the year though 2006-2008 dont know what one but google him you'll find his name...


He didnt get the medal of honor higher ups didnt think he deserved it because he was supposdly dieing anyway ... I think they were wrong I think his family should at least get that respect

they usually throw themselves on hand grenades. they will recieve the Medal of Honor regardless of thier current status (i.e the person is dead or alive when the award is given)
