Kitchen Chaos

Decided to have some work done in the kitchen. At this moment , they
are putting in drawers with rollers in my lower cabinets, they will
make it a lot easier to get and find items and they will not get
pushed toward the back and be forgotten. As a prequel to this, of
course , all had to be emptied and I did a LOT of weeding, tossing
things in boxes to go to Goodwill. In addition to these, I am having
dividers put into the drawers and little shelves to put in the
spices. When this project is finished I can put everything away and
have the kitchen looking wonderful. Also they are redoing the
pantry!! AND the Master Bedroom closet!! This is not a lot of fun,
but when finished I will be very happy.

You're not going to look back... I had those rolling shelves put in
two years ago and it's wonderful. There's no such thing as items
being lost at the back of the shelf anymore.

I wish you the best of luck with the renovations!

I hope your drawers are designed better than the ones I have. They are
horrid! So shallow on the bottom that stuff is constantly falling off the
back when I open it. And then I have to contort myself to get out whatever
fell. I only wish I had a pantry.

You are talking about kitchen drawers, aren't you?

Yes but perhaps what she is talking about is not what I have. These are
really shallow pullout things in the cupboards.

Rollers are nice, but they don't stop things from shifting and jamming
a drawer so it won't open. I keep my serving pieces and spatulas what
most people would think is upside down so there are no projecting
edges to get caught. It seems odd to some to see a fork with the tines
facing down, but it works for me (and probably would work for you
too).

Hmmm. I will try to remember this as I organize my drawers.

Oh yes, re those pull-out shelves as vs regular ones: one does
lose some space.
