Kirsten Dunst in Akihabara Majokko

Thought some of the people on the board might like to see this. It's a pretty cute video of Dunst dressed up as a cross between Sailor Moon and Rainbow Bright dancing around in Akihabara and singing "Turning Japanese." Directed by McG, the guy who did "Charlie's Angels." It turns out it was done for an art exhibit.

Usually I don't like things that are obvious like this and the great thing about "Turning Japanese" is that it's not about Japan at all, really, but this is fun enough that I have no problem with it here. Someone has pointed out to me that's there's a brief flash of cartoon boob in here, I think it's on a poster they found in a store or on the street, so use your discretion about looking at it.

I saw this on Kotaku today. Gotta say Kirsten Dunst look pretty hot in that outfit.



Since she already has comic book fans hearts (see Spider Man 1) I guess she going after the otakus now. I find hilarious that she singing "Turning Japanese" when she surrounded by Hentai.
 
I'm glad I'm not the first one to think this. I mean, since when does Kirsten Dunst sing? But seriously, did the director just say "hey, it seems like it would fit a Kirsten Dunst video to take random shots of HENTAI"?
 
Yes, there is a flash of cartoon breast in there, near the beginning of the video in the NSFW version. There's more of that scattered randomly throughout the video. The SFW version merely freezes the video (but not the audio) for a second or two right before the NSFW content before resuming.

For those surprised that Kristen Dunst can sing, just listen to "Summer Day" by Coconut RecorRAB (Jason Schwartzman's music project). That's her singing the background vocals. It was released on the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack but was not used in the movie like most of the soundtrack.

Anyway, this was a very strange video but considering Dunst likes doing oddball things once in a while I suppose it's not surprising that she dressed up like that and performed in the video in that outfit. And I do agree this is somewhat of a satire of the otaku sub-culture no matter what the creator(s) actually say.

And McG does need to direct an anime adaptation one day.

Did anyone else notice the same model boobie-bobber that was at Conan O'Brian's visit to Manga Entertainment?

And now we wait for the MMD model.

EDIT: Now that I think about it Kristen Dunst, Billy Herrington, and the Angry German Kid could team-up to fight crime in Japan.
