I found out today that one of my teachers' husbanRAB has a film about his life being released, anyway, I looked it up on IMDB and it sounRAB quite funny.

Has anyone heard of this already?

Well, I saw this last night and thought it was excellent. I have to admit that I was a bit worried given the standard of many British 'comedies' these days, but was pleasantly surprised.

Okay, it's a bit cheesy in places with the whole 'let's learn to accept everyone no matter how different they are' morality but it doesn't get in the way.

There are some cracking one liners in there, the cast are excellent expecially Chiwetel Ejifor, Joel Edgerton, Sarah Jane Potts and Nick Frost - and the soundtrack is perfect. If there's any justice it'll make big stars out of all involved.

It's a hit in heels! 4 out of 5.

As per my earlier post, I went to a media preview with a friend.

There are loaRAB of songs in there. I couldn't name them off the top of my head but they're mostly camp cabaret standarRAB in the tranny club - and there's a disco compilation of shoe-boot-and-walking-related songs for the big feelgood finale.

There's a feature on it here if you're interested.

They seem to love it too!

Thanks, naughtynaughty.

I really hope this film does well, and by the sound of things - calling it this years Calendar Girls and 'a cross between The Full Monty and The Birdcage' - it has no reason not to do well!

I believe the premiere in Leicester Square is in a week or so.

Hi guys
The scenes I took part in were set in a London night club near Wardour st and when all the real trannies arrived, (about 50 of them at midday!) the traffic just stopped when we disembarked from the coaches that had ferried us from Hyde park where the film base was. Therefore we only met Chiwetel or course and Nick who I thought looked a really dodgy person to have on set until someone told me he was one of the main actors and he was in character!

All Best

Kinky Boots is a poignant comedy, inspired by a true story, which sees Charlie Price (Joel Edgerton) set about rescuing his deceased fathers ailing Northampton shoe factory, with a unique new line of footwear which would have his ancestors turning in their brogues. In a chance encounter in London with Soho's sassy, larger than life, cabaret star Lola (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Charlie sees a new slice of life and realises Lola's quest for stylish, Kinky boots for men, might just provide the answer to his prayers...but is Price & Sons and provincial Northampton ready for Lola
