King of the Hill - "To Sirloin With Love" (Series Finale) - Talkback [9/13]

Wow, a awesome finale that wasn't rushed. King of the Hill was a show that always stayed the same (in a good way) unlike The Simpsons and didn't need no wacky humor or cartoon cameos to keep it fresh.

It went through the life of the Hill family and others and had great lessons people can learn in life.

Too bad FOX didn't air these 2 new episodes and the last four unaired episodes in May.

If this is indeed the true series finale (and as mentioned above, the production codes seem to imply it), they gave it a pretty good send off. The actual plot wasn't anything special, but the last few minutes were amazing. Hank and Bobby finally finding common ground, the entire neighborhood coming together one last time, Boomhauer: Texas Ranger, and both of the final "yep" sequences.

The Dale/Nancy scene at the end is kind of awkward, but since one of the unaired episodes supposedly finally ties up the whole John Redcorn thing, it'll probably feel more appropriate.

Here's hoping the four unaired episodes tie up whatever hasn't been tied up yet (coughbobbyconniecough).

I know I was Suprised too, Mabye BoomHaur will make a guest apperance in the Guys Next Series (Thunderstruck or whatever it was called.) It seems kind of silly to revial somthing like that in the last ep & not Play around with it in the Future.

But Yea a HeartWarming ending to what was (IMO) a very enjoyable series these past 12 years. I just Hope the 4 unaired eps are included in the DVD release. (if there is one that is.)

Goodbye Arlen, you will be missed. That is until later Tonight when I watch Reruns of KOTH on AS!:anime: (thank the lord for Syndication!)

Wikipedia isn't lying. Fox did indeed order 4 extra episodes around last year out of respect to help tie things up for the long running series. Strange, they didn't air them though but we will see them on Adult Swim for sure.

And by you saying "Thunderstruck" is the KOTH guys next series, do you mean Mike Judge or just crewmembers from the show?

An average episode but it was good to see Hank and Bobby finally bond. The ending was great, the show cam full circle with pan out of Arlen like the first episode when the first scene was a pan in of Arlen.

I thought the episode was pretty good, but I thought the other meat testers (especially the one with the glasses) were high strung and annoying. I didn't realize it had the "series finale" feel to it until the end scene with Hank and Bobby finally bonding and the "gang's all here" barbecue.

And Boomhauer's a cop!

Anyway, it's a shame there won't be any new episodes, but there's always Adult Swim and syndication.

that was definitely the highlight of the episode... now that i think about it, wasn't he the only one of the 4 who we never saw in a job? (as far as i remember anyway).

That could've been an entire episode.
