Broadcast Order: Season 13, Episode 20
Production Order: Season 13, Episode 17

Well, we have come to the end of a show that has been a staple of the FOX animation block for over 12 years. Surviving cancellation many times, the show defied the odds and managed to air 255 episodes, which is amazing for an American animated series. Technically, there is another episode to air(plus three scripts that may have been turned into episodes), but FOX isn't going to air it. Maybe Adult Swim will. Anyway, here is the synopsis for the finale(which airs at 8:30 PM Eastern):

Plotwise, it may have felt like a regular episode, but the ending really gives it that finale feel. Even giving an after-credits "Yep, yep, yep, mmhmm" sendoff.

Good night, sweet prince. Or king in this sense.

Run of the mill episode with a really sweet ending. If this had to be the final episode to ever air on FOX then I'm satisfied. More or less.

Goodbye, King of the Hill. I never realized I much I enjoyed and appreciated this show until this year. Truly one of the very best things to ever air on FOX.

It really did feel more like a normal episode, atleast until the ending which I thought was pretty satisfying. Nonetheless, it's sad to see KotH show go, but I guess it had a long enough run.

According to Wikipedia, he found out about John Redcorn in one of the unaired episodes. This was the final one, so in Hank's world, Dale already found out.

I was hoping they'd have a group scene for the ending. I really liked it. Nice to see that in Hank's eyes, the boy's finally "right." I wish the whole episode had been a send-off and not just the last minute or so, but it was still a good finale. Nice to see every character get at least one line.

Yep.

Nice ending. It's a bit of an odd plot, but, I think it really works - one of the major themes, if not THE major theme, of King of the Hill is Hank and Bobby, and their lack of common ground. So an episode where he joins a team - and a team centered around barbeque, no less - gives it a great feel of finality.

Final scene was nice, too. Nice slow-tempo version of the theme song, and the whole "everyone coming together" was nice, too.

It's a shame to see it go, as I've only really started to enjoy it the past few years... but it sure had a good run, didn't it?

So is this episode the last episode and the unaired eps take place before this one?

Because according to Wikipedia there are 4 more episodes Fox didn't air.

Edit: Uh, according to the production code, the 4 unaired eps take place between the two eps that aired tonight. That's pretty odd.

Again, it's Wikipedia, so I don't know, but it's all I know to go off of at this moment. According to it, Dale finds out about the affair in one of the unaired episodes. Seeing as how he's giving Nancy therapy in this episode, I assumed FOX went ahead, skipped the episodes inbetween, and aired the last episode so that it could be last. That was just me guessing, though.

Oh sweet. Maybe this was the legit finale, then.

Wow, so all this time, Boomhauer was a cop. That probably made this episode worth it because overall, it was a merely decent episode. Nice bonding between Hank and Bobby. Though the ending felt as if it was rushed to pretty much scream, "HEY, series finale here!", it felt heartwarming on its own end.

I hope the other four episodes will air...wherever. Thanks for the great series, KoTH.
