Broadcast Order: Season 13, Episode 10
Production Order: Season 13, Episode 3

A new episode aired tonight at 9:05 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

This one was lukewarm. Hank and Peggy take something too far, then they take something ELSE too far, and then they take a THIRD thing too far. It felt like a Season 2 episode, but I didn't laugh much at Season 2. Plus, the antics of Dale are starting to wear thin, and that's a big problem, as he's been one of the main attractions for over a decade. Guess the series is ending at the right time.

I was hoping Hank and Peggy's smothering of affection was just a ruse to teach Bobby a lesson.
It would make a lot more sense, because the way they were acting was kinda weird.

If it weren't for the Dale subplot which went nowhere and sadly wasn't that amusing, this would've been a solid A. I really enjoyed the Bobby/Hank/Peggy interaction; it felt like a return to earlier episodes when they were the main focus, only updated so that Bobby was a bit more mature than he was in those season 1 shows.

The characterization was spot-on; Bobby's stuck in that awkward period when he's not quite ready to grow out of his old habits, doesn't want to stay out all Friday night and be fully independent, as we saw when Hank and Peggy lost track of time and forgot to pick him up. At the same time, he clearly didn't want to be best friends with his parents. Peggy feeling guilty and over-compensating Bobby the morning after felt very natural, too.

Most of all, I think we can all relate to this plot. There comes a point in our lives when playing board games with the folks just doesn't cut it anymore, and I think we've all been in situations when the parents were a bit late in picking us up, and our trust in them is questioned.

It wasn't their LOL funniest episode, but I don't think it was intended to be. It was about Bobby growing up. That said, there were some funny moments:

-"Peggy and I haven't been on a date since... (thinks) Huh."
-Bobby talking about game night, and one of his peers says, "You really like your parents. That's so gay."
-Bobby alternating between appreciative (Peggy) and scornful looks (Hank) when Peggy says it was Hank's fault they were late.
-"I'm watching prostitutes buy pantyhose!"
-Hank on the ski arcade machine.

I did laugh at them discussing that Survivor-type show featuring the guy doing all the wacky stuff in the wildnerness.

Hank: He is the greatest American hero.....from Canada.

That made me laugh because there are so many things we love here in the states that are originally from Canada or something.

I'm getting sick of Dale altogether, because he was tacked into a pointless subplot when he simply wasn't needed in this episode. Seems with the few comedy shows left on the air, the writers always hue towards the stupidest character(istic)s possible.

The main plot felt like they were trying to reach for something from the earlier years, where the whole family has problems keeping their heads together (like with the smoking episode). However with Bobby, they sometimes show him trying to do regular teenage stuff, as in this case, going to a rock concert, but all we ever see of him is the usual pre-teen habits. Feels like he's one of the characters who has been stagnant over the years.

I freaking hate NASCAR, man. I go out to dinner and record the shows on my DVR, and come home to find a race pre-empting the one block on Fox that I actively watch.

Please tell me this and the night's American Dad! are on Hulu.

Tell me about it. I missed everything last night. And with the forum down, I didn't really have the secondary source to tell me it was on. Thank god for hulu.

You know, when they suddenly started acting like that, I thought they'd figured out that Bobby was taking advantage of their guilt. I didn't realize that they thouhgt Bobby really needed them.

And yeah, I agree about the Dale subplot. What was that all about?
