King Kong

The dinosaurs stuff drags on a bit but it's great otherwise. I never liked the 1933 original much but I enjoy the remake. Some lovely visuals, and Naomi Watts is great.

I remember seeing it in the cinema and feeling slightly underwhelmed.

Though I think that's because I was expecting a film to the quality of the Lord of the Rings, because of Peter Jackson's involvement, and of course it was never going to match up ... in my eyes at least.

I've never seen the original though.

The film was good, but started off a little slowly.

What annoyed me, though, and I find this a lot these days on many different channels, is the totally unprofessional way that the film suddenly cuts to adverts.

I think this is quite recent; I certainly remember not so long ago that the breaks seemed a lot less 'sudden' in their onset.

I suppose that this is just one more aspect of 'dumbing down' in 'Broken Britain'. Technology progresses but professionalism seems to have gone by the wayside.

I heard they arranged to get Fay Wray to make a cameo in the remake, but sadly she died between before it could be shot. Still there were a lot of nice touches in the film, you could tell it was done by a team that had respect for the origianal

If they were going to fill the film with 2+ hours of special effects, they could at least have been decent ones. Some of it looked distinctly 1985, as opposed to 2005.

Naomi Watts is quite pleasant to watch however.
