OK, I'm desperate now!!!! Am due to see Kong Monday eve. Someone throw me a frickin bone here! What happens before we first see the dreaded spiders?! Need to know, must not see... must not see...
My eldest daughter's hand in marriage to the first person to tell me. Or a small box of Miniature Heroes if you prefer.
Ok. Just close your eyes when they fall into the pit of giant insects, and get someone to tap you on the shoulder when they're climbing out. There are no more spiders in the movie.
ok, from what I recall there are 'spiders' in this movie - but they are in with a load of other giant insects. The part of the movie you need to look for is when they gang have fallen down a pit. They first attack giant cockroaches etc, but I believe the spiders appear shortly after. It's a fairly long scene, so you'll have to shut your eyes for quite a while.
Hope this helps - and enjoy the movie!
Having seen it on saturday night, you'll be able to tell when the spiders/creepy crawlies have gone as the rest of the audience will exhale suddenly and chatter amongst themselves about being glad that was over.
Seen it tonight, and here is the precise info you need (you can actually safely keep your eyes open for a bit longer than the posts above say). Contains a minor spoiler, so have hidden the text:
After some time on Skull Island, Jack Black looks up to see the film camera smashed and film spooled out onto the rocks. CLOSE YOUR EYES NOW. (You see a few other insects before this, but no spiders.)
The scene is quite long - eventually all the gunshots and screaming stops and there is a change of atmosphere to be much quieter - safe to open them again.
Glad to hear you survived, Noiseboy.
I'm not usually squeamish about insects but I had to turn away at this particular scene. Especially those weird worm things that, frankly, were quite disturbing the way they poked out of their sheaths..... all pink and wet but with teeth....
Saw King Kong yesterday, and the pit scene did not disturb me at all- I don't seem to mind insects, just things that look like spiders as we know them (and there weren't many of them in this film). What did disturb me was when Kong broke the jaw of the dinosaur- I had to look away for that.
When Kong first kidnaps the girl, stops and rests, she pretenRAB to be dead and then crawls off. She puts her hand under a rock and there's a big hairy spider.
Did that not bother you? It did me a bit, and I don't have arachnophobia. I reckoned it was probably poisoness.
