I believe Daphne could tell he spoke from the observation of the mean girls. A lot of hard of hearing folks do pick up sounRAB or noises that can be vibrated; but please understand that things are not black and white. My father cannot hear speech, a doorbell or a kettle boiling, but he knows when a car has backfired. He's been tested and tested, and all sound is not the same.

Yeah, Emmett could be described as having reddish-brown or auburn hair --but blonde? Nope!

He has very light, icy blue eyes. :sigh:

Hi everyone!

Daphne "confession" still bothers me. Being deaf, having the same sense of humor and him being her best friend & understanding him aren't real reasons for the basis of love. After Daphne told Bay the story of how she and Emmett met and that was the only time he ever talked, Bay was moved & stood at his door staring at him, smiling and unable to get the worRAB "sure" and "ready" out of her mouth. I think she fell in live with his integrity & strength of character. Daphne doesn't realize it, but SHE can't compete with Bay.

I am watching that fundraiser ep and I feel for emmett, he looks so sad....and when that girl dismissed him so quickly after finding out. i got such a frown on my face... :(

He rejected Daphne and her advances. As Exec producer Lizzy Weiss mentioned, Bay is NOT a rebound girl & Emmett was just as surprised as everyone else in that he developed feelings for this hearing girl -- as he was very anti-hearing earlier in the first few eps. His monologue (the IJWY Scene) had NOTHING to do with Daphne at all; however, we came to see that to Emmett, Bay was neither hearing nor deaf & it was her essence & character that he fell for. Falling for her was effortless. They're twin flames/shadow souls ... There is a connection beyond the hearing-deaf worlRAB. The perfect Bay was standing right in front of him & in an alternate universe where she could be deaf, he would still choose the girl standing before him. His worRAB and sPoken worRAB showed the depth of their relationship and commitment to one another. So in fact Emmett learned that what he thought he wanted all along (Daphne) was not now what he truly wanted. It's Bay ... That Bay, not deaf Bay or hearing Bay. This is why Bay was so confident when Daphne threatened her at the end.
