I have a deck, 4 aftermarket speakers, and 1 amp. I want to add a subwoofer & a second amp but i dont know which kind of amp to get to power the sub.

2 channel ? 4 chanell? Mono?

Find the right RMS of the subwoofer and if it's a high brand name, then get a monoblock class D amplifier. They are meant for subs, so if you match the ohm stability up with the sub (most amps are either 1 or 2 ohm stable) then you'll have everything you need. Check the RMS and add 100w if its over 400w RMS because most manufacturers underrate their subs so they don't get in trouble about fraud if people want to return their subs because of defects.

Example: MTX T7512-04 (400w RMS at 4 ohms) matched with a Hifonics BXi1208D that power 450w at 4 ohms would be a good match.
