Like on the title, I was trying to update the firmware to the IE and things were going fine, did not touch the phone or cable at all, but somehow the update pop up and it said UPDATE FAILED and i look at the phone and it was off... and now OFF OFF OFF cant turn it on anymore.

Now I was wondering if there is anything that I can do to fix it?? I am in California and got of on ebay from X1387...... this is crazy I did a big mistake.. now I don't know wat to do.

I hope I can get some suggestion from you guys.. or I have to find another one or wait for the N95.. but still I love my N73!!! hic hic hic

What's funny is that I thought with Phoenix and now NSU that iUnlock's business would decline alot but I dont think it has with everyone bricking their phoens.

To prevent this.. I think Nokia should change the pop-port thing..

They should stick the Universal USB.. Like the RAZR and stuff or Digi cams..

I think they are gonna start doing that.. Look at the N91 and the N95..

Hopefully with all future models..

Did you try to update again? When i updated my E60 it failed and i wasn't able to turn it on. I tried again and it went fine. If you have any other USB devices connected to your computer, you should disconnect them.

No a Hard Reset doesn't work... so I guess I have to use iunlock.com

.. just wondering at the checkout it says "Dead Phone"... it means "Yes" in my case I guess, but wat about "Decustomize" what it means??

So it means I have to send the phone to them and then they will fix it and send it back??

Thanks

maybe u should ask the man evan (owner of iunlock) himself...but my guess would it means decustomize all your settings that used to be there?

Yeah.. I sort of thought of it like that too..

If nokia can make their own one of a kind memory cards.. I think they will make that too..

Like you said.. Boost the sale of accessories.. Makes us no choice to buy theirs.

I'm surprised that second attempt didn't work for anybody else. My phone was bricked because there was an ipod plugged in to my computer during the update process. Phone would not power on and there was a pale image of screen saver on the screen even after i removed the battery. I waited until it disappeared, then i put the battery back, disconnected the ipod, reconnected the phone, restarted NSU and updated without a hitch. Maybe i was just lucky, but it doesn't say anywhere in NSU to disconnect other USB devices, so i'm thinking that this may be what causes update failures on all these phones.
